It’s been 13 years since Jennifer’s Body proved Megan Fox could carry a horror film, and it has been announced that she will return to the genre with a new film, albeit with a sci-fi twist. Imaginati Studios has announced that its debut title Planet of the Apes: Last Frontier will be released in late 2017 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. Last Frontier is a standalone narrative adventure game set in the Planet of the Apes cinematic universe, and features multiple endings, branching conversation arcs and diverging paths dependent on the choices of the player. Think of a game with the gameplay styles of Until Dawn or Telltale Games, but with angry primates, and you’re on the right track....
Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ first patch will offer players a Nintendo Switch to place in their house in the game (via Nintendo Life). The purpose of patch 1.1.0 is to prep the game for online multiplayer events and features that will go live when the game launches on March 20. The Bunny Day holiday—Animal Crossing’s answer to Easter—will be held from April 1 to April 12, and the 1.1.0a patch will activate on April 1 to get the party going....
Nintendo has shown, once again, that it is still stubbornly in the past. As spotted Twitter account “ACPocketNews,” the official Nintendo AU listing for Animal Crossing: New Horizons explains that users will only be able to have one unique island per Switch console. This sounds like some crazy limitation that should have been left firmly in the GameCube era. Past Animal Crossing titles have had similar limitations, but they were all on hardware that had very limited storage....
The developer of Anno 2070 has announced plans to try and save the game once its online servers close this September. The city builder was one of several Ubisoft games that will have its online features switched off later this year. In the original announcement, Ubisoft said the closure would allow them “to focus our resources on delivering great experiences for players who are playing newer or more popular titles”....
You can now pre-load Anthem ahead of its upcoming demo weekend. There are two demo weekends on the horizon. The first is the VIP demo, which begins this Friday, January 25. There are two ways to gain access to the VIP demo. The first, naturally, requires you to pre-order the game and use a code. Another way is to be an EA Access or Origin Access subscriber. Apex Legends has released its latest ‘Stories from the Outlands’ short to introduce its next character Valkyrie to the battle royale, and as previously teased by developer Respawn, Titanfall fans are in for a treat. It turns out Valkyrie is the daughter of Titanfall 2 character Viper. Earlier today, Respawn Entertainment and EA premiered another teaser trailer for the upcoming Apex Legends Season 6. The Boosted footage was a mix of cinematic and gameplay antics, all in the typical high octane, but half-serious Apex style. Ubisoft is rolling out the latest update for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey today, with patch 1.2.0 adding support for a bunch of upcoming DLC, including the Fate of Atlantis and fresh episodes in the Lost Tales of Greece saga. Battlefield 2042 is roughly halfway done with its first season, and the new patch 1.2 has dropped.
