Gearbox, the creator behind the Borderlands series, has nine AAA games currently in development. Angry Birds 2 has slingshot its way to 20 million downloads in its first week on release, Rovio has announced. Ubisoft has detailed changes it intends to make to its patching process for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla that will mean less frequent updates but, hopefully, result in more extensive fixes. In the blog post, the studio said “We recognize that some of our recent title updates may not have met your expectations or been up to our standards. We have made several changes to production pipelines and tools so that we can deliver more robust updates, which we will cover later....

Atlus recently sent out its annual consumer survey, which had a question asking fans if they were interested in seeing old games ported to the Nintendo Switch. It seems that Nintendo fans turned out in droves, as Atlus has received a record number of responses to the survey. Atlus hasn’t shown as much interest in porting its older games to modern systems, which has come as a surprise to many fans, due to the growing fanbases for both the Shin Megami Tensei series and its Persona spin-off series....

Battlefield 1’s first free map ‘Giant’s Shadow’ will be available to Premium Pass players and pre-order customers next Tuesday, December 13, and one week later on December 20 to everybody else, EA has announced. The new map is set amongst the wreckage of a huge crashed airship in France during the Battle of the Selle, as British forces attempt to liberate the area from the German Empire. EA and DICE have dropped a new trailer for Battlefield 2042, showcasing gameplay on three more of the maps in the game at launch. The first of the three maps featured is Renewal, set in the Eastern Desert of Egypt. Expect intense battles in some office buildings near a giant wall that is the central focus. Breakaway meanwhile might see you wanting a coat as you head to the icy fields of Antarctica....

Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 will be removed from the European and Japanese Wii U eShops at midnight on September 18. Recently, notices have appeared on the eShop’s download pages for Bayonetta 2 informing customers that the popular hack-and-slash games will be removed, thus concluding their run on the Wii U console. For the time being, it appears that the Bayonetta games will continue to be available in the North American eShop....

Beat Saber’s latest DLC Music Pack is inspired by Rocket League and created in collaboration with Monstercat (via Twinfinite). For the uninitiated, Beat Saber is a virtual reality rhythm game and the player wields lightsabers by using the motion controller.
