Being one of the mystical Sirens of the Borderlands universe has its perks, and for Amara it means getting to deal an insane amount of melee damage. In Borderlands 3, one of Amara’s three skill trees is solely dedicated to getting up in the enemy’s face and punching them so hard they explode. Thanks to a few key skills and a couple legendary items, players can make a melee build that will carry them easily through Mayhem 3 content with little resistance....

Borderlands 3 is only a couple weeks away, and fans are excited to dive back into the world of Pandora (and beyond) to reunite with returning characters and meet new faces. Once players beat Borderlands 3’s disappointing story and return to Sanctuary III, they will unlock a brand-new game mode: Mayhem Mode. This new feature allows players to ramp up the game’s difficulty in exchange for more loot and better rewards. Players can see increases of up to 500% loot quality depending on the difficulty, which can also be combined with True Vault Hunter Mode to further increase the chance of great gear....

The minds at InnerSloth have revealed the team’s own, official, Hide and Seek mode. Unveiled at this evening’s Game Awards, this mode comes as part of Among Us’ “biggest update this year”. This update, which goes live today (9th December) across all platforms, will offer “new surprises to survive from, a beanload of new cosmetics and pets,” the ability to “pet your pets” and, of course, “screaming”. FromSoftware and Bandai Namco have announced Armored Core 6: Fires of the Rubicon, an impressive-looking new entry in its robotic third-person shooter series. It’s been a decade since Armored Core 5 arrived. 10 years on, this new sequel is set for launch in 2023 on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. The epic that is Assassin’s Creed Odyssey has come to an end, at least in regards to major story DLC. The final episode of the Fate of Atlantis DLC released a few months back, giving players not only a sense of finality but perhaps interest in the modern-day storyline once again. Many consider the lackluster modern-day storylines between Assassin’s Creed 3 and Assassin’s Creed Origins as one reason for the franchise fatigue that plagued it so long, but that seems to be over now....

Ubisoft has announced that the latest Lost Tales of Greece episode for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is now live. Poet’s Legacy is out now for the stab-happy Greek adventurer, and is described as follows: ‘In this new Lost Tale of Greece, you’ll learn that she isn’t quite what she seems as you become increasingly involved in her risqué performances.’ As with the other entries in the Lost Tales of Greece DLC, Poet’s Legacy is free....

Atomicrops piqued my interest back when it entered early access in September 2019. The 2D top-down art style reminded me of some of my favorite shooters of the 16-bit era, like Total Carnage and Super Smash TV. These types of games featured relentless enemy waves while offering weapon buffs and character perks to aid in your survivability. Atomicrops draws inspiration from those games in areas like gunplay and visual presentation. However, where Atomicrops separates itself is in the depth it tees up even in its early stages....

Indie Metroidvania Axiom Verge 2 has launched on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC, as revealed by developer Tom Happ. The surprise came as part of Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase last night. Though a sequel to the original 2015 action adventure, Happ says you can play the games in any order. Playing as Indra, you’ll head to Antarctica following the call of a mysterious voice. Upon discovering an alternate Earth like world, you’ll find yourself exploring the ruins of a lost civilisation....

Making an open-world game where you fly around using an Iron Man glove seems like something that would be challenging for an indie team. Lienzo, the developer behind Mulaka and Aztech Forgotten Gods, still tried though. Soaring through the city is great fun at first, and many of Aztech Forgotten Gods‘ ideas are promising. Even the story is quite good despite the game looking like it came out well over a decade ago....
