Pioneering survival horror franchise Alone in the Dark is the latest property to be hoovered up by THQ Nordic, the publisher has announced. The company acquired the rights to the long-running series from Atari Europe SAS, alongside real-time strategy outing Act of War. Both franchises join the likes of TimeSplitters, Second Sight, and Kingdoms of Amalur under the THQ Nordic umbrella. Alone in the Dark debuted in the early 90s and gave birth to what we now refer to as survival horror, although Capcom’s Resident Evil is often credited for bringing the genre mainstream attention....

“We had a deal with a Hong Kong-based company, Leyou; I think it would have been great to work with them. But they later got sold to Tencent and it just got very complicated,” Hartmann explained. “The question was, sure, maybe [we] could have worked together with Tencent to do something, but I think we’re too big as companies to really turn into partners doing a property together where they own the licence and we develop the game,” Hartmann elaborated....

Nintendo had previously announced that Arms would be receiving a 3.2 update later this month, and now it’s teased some of the new additions in a brief one minute trailer. Turtle Rock Studios and Warner Bros. Games have dated the first expansion for zombie shooter Back 4 Blood, entitled Tunnels of Terror. Earlier today Larian Studios streamed for over an hour at PAX East to reveal Baldur’s Gate 3 for the first time through multiple outlets, and to many viewers’ surprise, one of those premieres was on Stadia’s official YouTube channel. However, as part of the reveal showed, the partnership between Baldur’s Gate 3 and Google’s new Stadia game streaming program runs fairly deep. With Baldur’s Gate 3 coming to PC and Stadia, Larian Studios has made the decision to back the new system that it has partnered with and built features into the game that are exclusive to Stadia....
