BioWare is making some changes within its hierarchy. In a blog post on its site, BioWare General Manager, Aaryn Flynn, announced that after 17 years he’s stepping down from the GM role at the end of July. He will be replaced by Casey Hudson, the former Mass Effect series project director, who wrote another, separate blog post, and returns to BioWare after leaving to join Microsoft in 2014. Flynn wrote, ‘I have been contemplating changes in my own life for some time, but when I heard that Casey had confirmed he was up for the task, I realized the opportunities before us’....

Developer ArtPlay and publisher 505 Games have pulled back the curtain on the new content headed to Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. The June 2022 Development Roadmap showcases all of the game’s completed post-launch content in addition to updates that are still on the way. Fans of the side-scrolling RPG can expect a brand new in-game area that serves as a crossover with a non-Bloodstained franchise to find its way to the title in summer 2022....
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will feature a co-op Zombies mode, Activision has confirmed, making it the first Call of Duty developed by Infinity Ward to do so. Call of Duty: Ghosts, the last game developed by Infinity Ward, featured an alien-blasting co-op mode called Extinction, while Modern Warfare 2 and 3 featured co-op side missions and a wave-based survival mode. Infinity Warfare’s Zombies mode won’t, however, be set in the same universe as the rest of the game, instead taking place in its own setting....
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will launch soon for PC and consoles, and the development studios have announced an update for one of the game’s multiplayer modes before it officially launches. The NPD Group has announced that Anthem was the best-selling video game in North America last month. Despite its developer, BioWare, admitting that the game’s launch was rougher than expected, Anthem still managed to fend off the competition during February, becoming the second highest-selling game of the year so far. In first place? Kingdom Hearts 3. Far Cry New Dawn and Metro Exodus managed fourth and eighth place, respectively, although Crackdown 3 couldn’t even make a dent in the top 20....
James Wan will return to the DC Universe a little sooner than expected. Wan will executive produce Aquaman: King of Atlantis, a three episode animated series for HBO Max with Warner Bros. Animation. Very few details are available at the moment but HBO says that “each of the standalone episodes will have a unique storyline following the adventures of Aquaman as protector of the deep.” It sounds like this is an all-ages affair, and that’s perfectly in keeping with the nutso underwater fairytale tone of Wan’s billion dollar grossing 2018 Aquaman movie....
A figurine of Arthas as the Lich King has been made available for preorder from Beast Kingdom in collaboration from Blizzard, raising some interesting questions about his potential role in the upcoming World of Warcraft: Shadowlands expansion. While the character of Arthas has played a pivotal role in World of Warcraft‘s lore, he hasn’t been seen in-game since his defeat during the events of Wrath of the Lich King. Assassin’s Creed Syndicate will not include a multiplayer mode, Ubisoft has confirmed. Instead, the publisher is putting all of its resources into ensuring that the single-player campaign is “excellent”. “This game will be single-player,” CEO Yves Guillemot confirmed during the firm’s FY15 earnings call last night. “We don’t know and we can’t say yet.. We know but we can’t say yet about what will happen next.” He continued: “You don’t have a multiplayer mode on this iteration because we want to spend all our time on making sure the single-player is excellent and it’s coming along extremely well....
