Xbox is rolling out a host of new features to Xbox Insider members over the coming month, including Arena tournaments, changes to the Profile and Activity Feed, and more. Arena on Xbox Live World of Tanks fans will be able to participate in new tournaments on their Xbox One, created by ESL and powered by Arena on Xbox Live. Discover tournaments from your Xbox One or Xbox app on Windows 10, get notifications when your match is ready, jump directly into your match on the Xbox One, enjoy automatic results reporting, and show off the results on your activity feed....

Ark: Survival Evolved will receive new content expanding the game’s story, featuring a couple of famous faces. The content will focus on the characters Sir Edmund Rockwell and Helena Walker. In part two of the game’s Genesis expansion, Rockwell is voiced by David Tennant (everyone’s favourite Doctor in Doctor Who) and Walker is voiced by Madeleine Madden (known for playing Egwene al’Vere in The Wheel of Time). Both actors will reprise their roles for the new content....

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla fans will need to free some bandwidth, as the game’s next patch will require them to redownload the entire game. As per Ubisoft, the 1.4.1 update will include a major data restructuring for the 2020 Viking adventure. The upshot of this is that players on all formats will have to redownload between 40-78GB of patch data. Theoretically when it’s done, the amount of space the game will take up on your hard drive will be smaller....

Hardcore racing sim Assetto Corsa will release on PS4 and Xbox One on April 22, 505 Games has announced. Developed by Italian studio Kunos Simulazioni, Assetto Corsa made its debut as an Early Access title PC back in 2013, where it developed a name for itself amongst the racing community for its realistic handling and graphics. The console versions will include over 90 high-performance cars, including the Ferrari LaFerrari, Pagani Zonda R, and Mercedes C9, plus over 20 different track “configurations”, including courses from Silverstone, Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Autodromo Nazionale Monza and Nurburgring-Nordschleife....

54 young people have been shortlisted for BAFTA’s annual Young Game Designers award. BAFTA reports that “compelling themes relating to gender identity, mental health, and climate change dominate this year’s entries” and confirms that the winners will be revealed at an upcoming digital ceremony scheduled for 30th June 2022 hosted by Inel Tomlinson. “This year’s shortlisted entries encompass a diverse range of contemporary topics, including mental health and anxiety, climate change, computer safety, time and space travel, and gender identity, with several gender-neutral leading characters across this year’s entries,” the organisation said....

According to “malware source code monitors” vx-underground, Bandai Namco fell victim to a ransomware attack in early July. The group stated on its Twitter account on July 11 that the ALPHV ransomware group, which also goes by the name BlackCat, claimed to be the culprit. Apparently, the data uncovered by the group mostly contained Bandai Namco’s future plans for game releases and reveals as well as DLC. Since the reports came out, Bandai Namco confirmed the hack to media outlet Eurogamer....

IO Interactive has released a trailer for tomorrow’s first new location for murder-em-up Hitman 2. Entitled The Bank it takes place, unsurprisngly, in a bank in New York. The trailer, which we’ve embeded below, sets the scene for the new DLC pack, which will include the new location, a new campaign mission called ‘Golden Handshake’, Contracts Mode for the new mission, new Challenges and Mastery Progression including unlocks and new trophies and achievements....

EA has said that it won’t be removing Russian forces from Battlefield 2042, in the wake of events in Ukraine. In an interview with Eurogamer, EA DICE general manager Rebecka Coutaz spoke about the issue: “First of all, we were here at DICE of course, we were as shocked as everybody else on the 24th of February waking up to see what was happening in Eastern Europe. We have a lot of team members coming from Eastern Europe and we have had to deal with that, so that they feel comfortable, and we’re here and we listen and help them to take care of themselves....
