Developer Treyarch has announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be getting its first mid-season update next week. Writing on the developer’s blog, the team revealed the update will include new content for Multiplayer and Zombies modes including new Fireteam map Sanatorium, new 6v6 MP mode Dropkick and a new Cranked mode in Zombies that will see players given a ticking timer to their demise that they must top up and stave off death by making kills....

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is set to launch on November 13, and it true Black Ops fashion, it includes a Zombies mode. We don’t, however, know much about it yet. Short of wave-based battles with multiple upgrade paths, Treyarch hasn’t released any details about how Zombies will look in Black Ops Cold War. That changes this week. Treyarch announced that it’ll reveal more about Zombies at 1 PM ET on Wednesday, September 30....

PvP remains in New World, but it will only be through structured systems. New World features a territorial control system allowing guilds to declare wars on others, leading to open windows of 50 vs. 50 PvP. In other words, PvP will still be very accessible. Players will just have to join or form an aggressive guild and then they’ll have plenty of it. While other players war, new players and those who want to focus on crafting or resource gathering will be free to do so....

AMD has announced that it aims to achieve a 30x increase in server energy efficiency for EPYC CPUs and Instinct accelerators by 2025. This increase in efficiency is expected to help data centers and servers achieve higher performance in Artificial Intelligence (AI) training and High-Performance Computing (HPC) applications. The goal is not only to offer higher performance, but to do so without spending an absurd amount of power. Thus, AMD plans to improve the performance-per-watt efficiency of new server chips in the next four years....

Valentine’s Day is coming soon, and for Apex Legends players that means the return of the much-loved Duos mode. First introduced back in November, Duos allows players of the battle royale game to form teams of two instead of the usual three. Many fans hoped Duos would become a permanent new mode, but it sadly went away after a short run. Now developer Respawn is bringing back this fan favorite to Apex Legends (again, only for a limited time) as part of its Valentine’s Day event, which starts tomorrow, February 11th....

The developer of Anime Fighting Game Community favorite Arcana Heart, Examu, has announced that the company will be ceasing operations at the end of February 2020. Founded in 2007, as Yuki Enterprise, Examu filled a specific niche in the Japanese game development market by producing arcade releases of fighting games. Samurai Showdown V and Million Arthur are two of the more recent arcade releases from Examu. Examu’s biggest original series of releases was the Arcana Heart games....

Interstellar space sandbox game Astroneer has finally arrived on the Nintendo Switch from today. The five year title is fully up to date with its other console and PC versions, as well as four-player online drop in and drop out co-op. The release also coincides with that of a brand new Xenobiology update which arrives for the game on all formats, including the Switch, from today. Today’s new update introduces new creatures known as Galastropods or space snails....

Civilization VI’s next premium DLC will be Australia, led by Prime Minister John Curtin, 2K and Firaxis have announced. John Curtin was the 14th Prime Minister of Australia, serving from 1941 to 1945, holding office while the country was under direct threat of Japanese attack during World War II. Curtin died on July 5, 1945 while still in office. The DLC will feature the unique Digger unit. Nicknamed “Diggers” Australian troops served the Commonwealth with honour and distinction in both World War I and II, on multiple continents, and often at considerable sacrifice....

Over the years, the beloved pop culture icon has become one of the highest-grossing video game franchises of all time. Pac-man continues to translate that success to mobile with nearly 50 million downloads. The three new mazes, featured in Pac-man and Pac-man Lite, offer fans a new unique gameplay, offering more non-traditional complex mazes: Cloudy, Dazzle and Square Dance....

2022 so far: if you’re not being clobbered with an NFT, you’re being smacked in the chops by a metaverse, and the latest company to hop aboard the latter train is Bandai Namco, which is building a £96m virtual space where customers can experience “entertainment on an IP axis”. Batman – The Telltale Series Episode 4: Guardian of Gotham will launch November 22 for PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360, plus iOS and Android devices, Telltale has announced. In the fourth of five chapters, Penguin has taken control of Wayne Enterprises and Bruce Wayne has checked in to the Elizabeth Arkham Asylum for the Criminally Insane. Batman Day 2019 has come and gone. DC Comics celebrated the holiday by revealing the creative team for the next run of the main Batman comic, and Epic Games turned Fortnite’s Tilted Town into Gotham. Unfortunately absent from the event was WB Montreal, rumored to be working on a Batman Arkham followup. But while an announcement wasn’t forthcoming, WB did eventually release what appears to be a teaser of some kind....
