Reliable data miner Sekiro Dubi has discovered the quest, which may have lasted from the game’s beginning right up to the end. After months of work, Sekiro Dubi has restored that questline. Ending spoilers follow. It begins with Merchant Kalé in the Church of Elleh. He’s the first merchant you meet in the game - the one in red, looking like Santa - and the only one to be properly named....

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 has added a bunch of new content to mark the release of Ant-Man and The Wasp in cinemas this summer. In case you wondered, that’s the film starring Paul Rudd, aka the Man Who Never Seems to Age. The new character and level pack is out now, and features a new stage where Ant- Man and The Wasp must put a stop to the nefarious Egghead, which also involves battling a giant chicken mech....

Apex Legends’ 3rd person mode went live today for a limited time, where previously, gamers had to go through a hidden easter egg challenge in order to play in 3rd person. Now, the developers have added the feature to be easily implemented in gameplay, but only for a limited time. The Apex Legends LTM is live now, but will only last until January 20th. It seems possible that Respawn is testing out the new feature to see if gamers will want to use it in future renditions of the game, not unlike how it has tested the waters with single and duo LTMs in the past....

20th Century Fox has released the first trailer for its Assassin’s Creed movie, based on the on-hiatus Ubisoft franchise. Judged on the two minutes seen in the trailer things seem very much in-line with the feel of the game series, even ending with the iconic Leap of Faith dive. The blurb from the trailer adds: “Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain....

Another week, another free game courtesy of Epic. This time around Aven Colony is going to be free on the Epic Games Store. Beginning November 4, Epic Games Store users will be able to add the alien city builder to their library. It will remain available for free until November 11. DICE has detailed its imminent 1.2 update for the beleaguered Battlefield 2042, which will, among other things, herald its first batch of planned map improvements based on the player feedback it requested earlier this year. This initial round of improvements will target Battlefield 2042’s Kaleidoscope map, and will - as previously detailed - focus on adjustments to cover, intensity, line of sight, pathing, and traversal. These have been achieved by adding new flag positions, by placing new areas and assets around the map, and by raising terrain....

Battlefield 2042‘s February update brings changes to the Portal mode and a re-design of the Scoreboard UI. A Twitter thread on the official Battlefield account detailed some of these changes alongside the announcement of tomorrow’s update. The 3.2 and 3.3 Updates deliver “a handful of small fixes and improvements to the game focused around stability.” These updates will address multiple points of criticism that have been levied against the game since its release in November 2021....

Battlefield 2042 Season 2 continues today with the arrival of update 2.1, which most notably reworks the (appropriately named) map Renewal. DICE has taken the decision “to competely remove certain sections of the map” which it has decided broke the game’s “flow” or were simply “too far away”. Getting around the game will be quicker too - as Battlefield adds the Polaris RZR buggy as an in-world vehicle. To my eyes, it looks like a cross between a tank and a golf cart....

Battlefield is heading back to the Pacific Theater. During the EA Play 2019 showcase, Electronic Arts revealed that Battlefield V will soon allow you play across several new Pacific battlefields. One of these is a returning map: Iwo Jima. It will be available for chapter 5 of the game, coming later this year. Iwo Jima has had quite the history with the Battlefield franchise. First appearing in Battlefield 1942, the island was also featured later in Battlefield 1943....

A start date for Battlefield Hardline’s open beta will be announced tomorrow, Visceral has confirmed. The announcement follows rumours earlier this week suggesting that the beta is due to go live next Tuesday, February 3. Once it goes live, the beta will be open to all users on Xbox One, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, and allow players to try out two multiplayer modes – Conquest and Hotwire – ahead of the full game’s release on March 20....

A tech video of Frostbite 2, the game engine that will be powering the upcoming DICE shooter Battlefield 3, has been released. It showcases some of the capabilities of the engine, and it does look pretty impressive. It’s also important to note that Battlefield 3 wouldn’t have been a possibility without this current incarnation of the Frostbite engine. The four minute trailer that has been made available shows off the “real time radiosity” of the engine and it’s rendering capabilities....

Today, Bandai Namco hosted a massive livestream dedicated to its upcoming MMORPG Blue Protocol, and it came heavy with content and reveals. First of all, we get the details of the previously teased network test, which will be hosted between Jan. 14, 2023, and Jan. 16, 2023. 50,000 applicants will be selected via lottery, and they will be recruited until Dec. 13 at 11:00 Japan time.
