Treyarch has released another update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, and this time it mainly targets the game’s undead-flavoured Zombies mode. We already got a patch for the military shooter earlier in the week, although that one was focussed on the battle royale mode, Blackout. You can read more details on that patch here. Black Ops 4’s latest update adds a number of stability fixes for the Zombies campaign, so that’s IX, Voyage of Despair, Blood of the Dead, and Classified....

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 developer Treyarch has dropped off a fresh Blackout offering today, which sees players able to respawn for the first time in the battle royale mode. The limited time mode is called Down But Not Out, and allows players to respawn downed teammates following each new collapse. However, you can only do this if there is at least one squad member alive and kicking. Down But Not Out coincides with the release of the free Blackout trial, which runs until January 24....

The Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare multiplayer beta will begin October 14, first on PS4 with Xbox One to follow at a later date, Activision has announced. You can get a Beta access code by pre-ordering any edition of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare from a participating retailer. There will be no beta on PC. Activision has announced that Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will be getting a Halloween event, which is live from now until November 1. For the rest of the month players can take part in Willard Wyler’s Halloween Scream. This community celebration will introduce some Halloween-themed loot, a bunch of XP-boosting events, a new zombies mode, and free item rewards. Every Friday players will receive a free Halloween-themed cosmetic item simply for logging in, with a final free gift awarded on October 30....

All the way back at E3 2012, developer LucasArts revealed Star Wars: 1313, a grittier take on the eternally popular IP that would revolve around bounty hunters rather than Jedi. Unfortunately, the Walt Disney Company would acquire LucasArts near the end of that year, which led to the megacorporation reportedly putting the development of Star Wars: 1313 and all other LucasArts projects on hold. Respawn Entertainment has touched base on a possible Nintendo Switch version of Apex Legends, stating that while the studio is aware of demand, it ‘can’t make any promises’ at the moment. Speaking with Wired, project lead Drew McCoy made it clear that nothing is set in stone about a Switch version of the massively popular battle royale title, which launched on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One in February. ‘If Switch was coming, we would tell you, and we would blast it across the world....

Apple Music is now available across Xbox consoles. An app for the music streaming platform can be downloaded from the Xbox store on Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One consoles, or the Microsoft store. Microsoft has announced the line-up of free games available in next month’s Games With Gold. From April 1-April 15, Xbox 360 Gold subscribers will be able to download 2013 prequel shooter Gears of War: Judgment and side-scrolling adventure Terraria, with Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag and Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel following from April 16-April 30. Xbox One users, meanwhile, will be able to download Ubisoft’s fantasy RPG Child of Light and Pool Nation FX all month long....

Just last week, Ubisoft officially announced the two DLC expansions for the hit sequel to Assassin’s Creed. The expansion are planned to hit early next year; one in January followed by another in February. For now, Ubisoft is working on releasing an update to fix some of the existing issues in game which we at Game Rant nominated as one of the best video games of 2009. The idea of Platinum Games making a live service game kind of boggles my mind a bit. A game of that sort is about as far from the developer’s wheelhouse as I can imagine, but Babylon’s Fall just had its phase 3 closed beta. I got to put some time into it and, while the enemies are too spongey for my liking, I had a good time. The combat feels like Platinum to me and I’m honestly looking forward to jumping back into the game when it releases in full....
