Apparently, Animal Crossing: New Horizons doesn’t seem to let players carry over progress made on one Switch to another Switch, as discovered on the Animal Crossing subreddit (via Nintendo Life). We knew that the new game wouldn’t be getting cloud saves, and we knew that there would be one island to one Switch (much like previous entries that would accommodate four players in one town). Now, it seems that the New Horizons save is stuck to the hardware it was started on, and there will be no way to transfer progress from one Switch to another Switch....

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is getting new features in its first of its series of summer updates. Wave 1, as it is titled, will go live on July 3. This will let players swim and dive off of the shores of their island, and catch new marine life for the Museum. They’ll encounter Pascal the philosopher floating about occasionally, and he’ll offer them mermaid-themed DIY recipes in exchange for a scallop....

Guerrilla has released another patch for Horizon Forbidden West that will see multiple changes across the board. Please note there may be some spoilers for Horizon Forbidden West ahead. “We’ve just released Patch 1.08. Thanks to everyone who has used the Support Form to share their issues with us, please continue to do so for any bugs you come across in Horizon Forbidden West”, Guerrilla wrote. While patch 1.08 does include some general fixes such as improvements to NPC animations and a fix for repeating music, the one that caught my eye was the one that fixes “Aloy’s breathing sounds” during the game’s Thebes based cinematic cutscene....

Studio Wildcard has announced that its upcoming Genesis expansion to popular dinosaur themed survival game ARK: Survival Evolved has to spend a little longer in the oven, and will now be releasing in February. The expansion – which was originally revealed back in August last year – is set to include a new map based on a simulation world, allowing for some vastly varying biomes such as underwater and an icy planet, as well as plenty of new creatures and monsters to tame....

Ubisoft has confirmed it will be outfitting its Trials of the Gods challenge for Assassin’s Creed Origins with a new hard difficulty setting. Just in case you thought scrapping with Sobek, Sekhmet, and Anubis was too easy the first time around, the new update, due tomorrow, offers players a far greater challenge plus a bunch of new loot as a reward. DICE has shared more on its future plans for Battlefield 2042, including the news it’s coming to EA Play and Game Pass Ultimate when Season 3 launches in a “few weeks” time. During the E3 2019 Bethesda showcase, the company announced Orion, a streaming solution which acts as a middleman for other streaming services.
