Blade finally coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (played by Mahershala Ali) is a little different from the other comic characters in rebooted movies. Unlike, say, Spider-Man or Joker, Blade comes with a certain set of expectations that have less to do with his comic book origins, and more to do with the Wesley Snipes movies. Sure, there’s going to be the novelty of being in a shared universe, but a lot of Blade’s popularity comes from the previous movies and it’s been long enough since Blade Trinity that they can reboot the series and still keep it feeling familiar....

Overwatch character Zarya has been quietly edited to remove a “Z” logo on her character model. Developer Blizzard has not yet commented on the change, though fans have spotted the “Z” has now disappeared in the game’s most recent update (thanks, PC Gamer). It’s not hard to guess why this change has occured now. The “Z” symbol has recently become co-opted by Putin-supporting Russian citizens and emblazoned on military vehicles currently involved in the country’s devastating invasion of Ukraine....

After a week of teasing Blizzard finally shared details of the Retribution event during the Overwatch League. The Retribution event is a new story-based PvE event which will run between 10-30 April. Characters that are included in this new event include Reaper, Genji, McCree and Moira. The location is Venice and it tells the story of the Blackwatch mission that changed the future of Overwatch as they pursue a high-ranking member of Talon....

Freedom of movement is one of the joys of arena first-person shooters. Boomerang X, which handles things quite differently, finally has a release date. It will be coming to Steam on July 8. Developed by the fine folks at Dang! studio and published by the ambassadors of “what the hell just happened,” Devolver Digital, Boomerang X set outs to offer a blisteringly fast, challenging experience. I got to preview the game back in April and I’ll be reviewing the game once it releases, so I’m quite glad that release is being squared away....

At a Borderlands 3 preview event that took place at a disused power plant in London, Den Of Geek was lucky enough to spend a few hours with the game and chat to one of its developers from Gearbox. We were battling our way through a boss fight against a dubstep-inspired villain called Mouthpiece (who we previously spoke about in our hands-on gameplay preview) when we were pulled away to sit down with Chris Brock, a senior project producer at Gearbox, who was super friendly and had loads of interesting things to say....

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’s second DLC pack ‘Ascendance’ is available to download now on Xbox One and Xbox 360 for £11.59. The pack is also available at no additional cost to players who have purchased the Season Pass. Ascendance packs in four brand new maps – Chop Shop, Perplex, Climate and Site 244 – along with the second part of Exo Zombies. A new OHM Directed Energy hybrid LMG/Shotgun is also included, with the download coming in at 5....

Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 is making a splash this week, and unfortunately, it’s a cannonball. The popular FPS title released a patch yesterday that has the community up in arms. This patch introduces daily contracts to Black Ops 4, which give players tasks to complete for more rewards. This follows a near-unanimous request from the community for more reward-offering content in the game. However, it appears that to offset this, they’ve also introduced the Blackjack’s Stashes feature....

Call of Duty: Black Ops is the game that wants to make sure it jumps on as many gamer bandwagons as possible. If it doesn’t hit all the expected beats there will be tons of fans left disappointed. In order to keep up to date with the changing realm of game releases Activision is proud to announce that Black Ops, coinciding with its traditional retail release, will be available starting November 9th on Steam....

“Together with Smilegate, we are committed to supporting the growing community with a robust roadmap of updates in the years to come.” The free-to-play MMO ARPG had an incredible launch last month. In the first three days alone, more than 4.7 million players joined the Lost Ark community. It was during these three days that Lost Ark saw a peak of 1.32 million concurrent players. This made it Steam’s second-biggest concurrently played game ever, with only PUBG ahead of it....

Specific details about how the new system will work were also provided. In New World, all new players will be protected from PvP and won’t have the ability to opt-in until progressing further into the game. This will prevent new players from getting griefed, while also encouraging new players to get out of new player areas quickly. PvP will unlock once players reach level 10 and join an in-game faction. After joining a faction, players can turn on their PvP flags and start fighting other flagged PvP players....

While the headset is designed for the PS4, Sony’s Gold headset lineup can also be used on a variety of platforms such as the PC and mobile devices via the included detachable 3.5mm cord. The headset can also be connected wirelessly to the Nintendo Switch when in docked mode (no mic support) by plugging in the USB adaptor to the Switch’s dock. The limited-edition headset is also a great companion for the PlayStation VR, which will offer better sound quality than the earbuds included with the VR headset....

The Radeon RX 6500 XT’s reception didn’t go well for AMD despite it being one of the few graphics cards that wasn’t immediately scalped or out of stock. This was mainly due to the paltry specs but also the unattractive price tag. It seems that a refreshed 8GB model of the AMD 6500 XT will soon be available, though, with slightly higher clock speeds to boot. Sapphire Technology shared a tweet today, noting that its Pulse model of the AMD 6500 XT 8GB will soon be available....

2019 just kicked off a few weeks ago, but many game companies all over have hit the ground running with announcements, reveals and releases. Just recently, SCS Software pulled the veil back on the next expansion for American Truck Simulator. Introducing, the Washington State DLC. It’s set to launch later this year (an exact date has not yet been announced, nor has the price been revealed). Northward Bound Home to popular cities like Seattle, and the last state on the west coast before Canada, Washington is well known for its captivating beauty....

Anthem is now available on EA Access and Origin Access subscription services, in case you care. Which statistically speaking, you probably don’t. For those not already aware, EA Access is basically EA’s game subscription service. It’s like Netflix, but for EA games: you pay a fee every month and get access to just over 230 titles in EA’s back catalog. That’s a lot of games, and by now at least, most of them have been fixed to something that passes as playable....

Respawn may be hinting that a new hero is coming to the game by the name of Revenant, according to datamined files and an unsuspicious tweet from a developer (via VG247). Hot off the heels of Crypto, it seems that Respawn is moving and shaking to include a legend named Revenant. The name has popped up a few times before, like Wattson and Crypto, but it was anyone’s guess what the hero looked like or what their abilities would be....

Apex Legends, the battle royale game that every man and his dog is talking about nowadays, is offering PlayStation Plus subscribers exclusive free content. The Play Pack for Respawn’s free-to-play sci-fi shooter adds six new items, among which features two PlayStation-exclusive weapon skins for the Flatline and RE45. In addition, the Gibraltar and Bloodhound receive one exclusive camo and a banner each. These are all cosmetic items, so naturally they won’t actually give you an edge in combat....

With the third season of Apex Legends right around the corner, starting October 1 in fact, there has been a lot of speculation as to whether or not the battle royale game is getting a new map. Fans are putting together clues from recent announcements and trailers to hypothesize a new planet and setting for a brand new Apex map coming next season. Last week, Respawn unveiled new character Crypto and announced season 3 of Apex Legends, titled Meltdown, is coming October 1....

Lince Works has pinned a June 5 release date to the upcoming Shadow Edition of acclaimed stealth-’em-up Aragami and its accompanying Nightfall expansion. Aragami: Shadow Edition bundles the original game alongside all existing downloadable content, including Nightfall. Obviously, if you already own Aragami you can just pick up Nightfall separately, but for newcomers this re-release is an ideal meal ticket. Originally released back in 2016, Aragami — which was first titled Twin Souls: The Path of Shadows — sees you hopping into the silent shoes of the eponymous assassin, who has the ability to wield supernatural powers and control shadows....

In perhaps one of the most unexpected reveals of last night, developer Studio Wildcard revealed that it is working on a sequel to its popular survival sim ARK: Survival Evolved. Details on Ark 2, as it’s titled, are currently thin on the ground outside of the trailer below, but it will feature actor Vin Diesel, famous of course for his roles in the Fast and Furious franchise, the voice of Groot in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and has shown up a fair few times in the world of gaming, notably repising his role from the Pitch Black movie series as Riddick in The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay....
