After already moving Sim Update 10 for Microsoft Flight Simulator from July to August, Asobo has confirmed the update has been pushed again September. The delay was announced by studio exec Jorg Neuman, who called it a “difficult decision.” Much like real-world air travel, 2022 has been a bit of a troublesome year for Microsoft Flight Simulator. While various updates and add-on releases have made decent progress to the sim, Asobo has had to tighten its belt due to the all too common complications that occur after the release of a major update....

Michael Fassbender will play not one but two parts in the holiday 2016 Assassin’s Creed movie, Ubisoft has confirmed. Fassbender will star as Aguilar, a new Assassin created specifically for the film, and new modern day counterpart Callum Lynch who discovers his connection to the 15th century Assassin via his genetic memories. The action will take place in 15th century Spain. Fans will be pleased to learn that the movie is being treated as canon, with the games and film sharing the same universe....

Incus Games has launched a Kickstarter campaign for its highly unique RPG Three Monkeys, a game in which the visuals exist only in the player’s imagination. The game puts players in the shoes of Tobar, a blind hero who embarks on a journey through a dark, cursed land, where the sun has been ripped out the sky. “While audio games in themselves are not new, they tend to rely on the same tactics,” explains the Kickstarter....

BAFTA has revealed its Game of the Year nominees, with the eventual winner being voted for by the public. This year’s nominees are Chicory: A Colorful Tale, Deathloop, It Takes Two, Metroid Dread, The Forgotten City and Unpacking. This shortlist was decided by a team of experts within the gaming industry, with each member of the panel tasked with choosing six games that “resonated most with players around the world, entertained them and captured their imaginations”....

Bandai Namco is working with Nintendo to remaster a 3D action game. That’s according to multiple job listings on Bandai Namco’s Japanese website, spotted on Resetera. Those listings are for a planner and two visual artist positions, one of which specifies work to “perform HD remastering of the 3D background” (thanks google translate). The responsibilities of the artist positions involve porting existing material to an in-house game engine and creating 3D backgrounds for a 3D action game....

A new Blair Witch first-person, story-driven psychological horror title was announced as a world exclusive at Microsoft’s E3 2019 presentation. It comes with a release date of August 30. The game is being developed by the creators of Layers of Fear, Bloober Team. It will retail for an MSRP of $29.99. Blair Witch is set in 1996, with a troubled former police officer named Ellis searching for a missing young boy in the infamous Black Hills Forest outside of Burkittsville, Maryland....

We’re just days away from Amnesia: Rebirth launching on PC and PS4, and a developer walkthrough has been posted online. The lengthy gameplay clip shows us some early sections of Rebirth, and it looks as scary as you’d imagine. Two members of the team at Frictional Games discussed what’s new for Rebirth, and why it’s a true Amnesia sequel. The video begins with the protagonist exploring a “neighborhood that’s not the friendliest,” although we’re not sure if any Amnesia locations are friendly....

The Disney & Marvel Games Showcase over the weekend gave us our first glimpse of the new Marvel game coming from former Uncharted director Amy Hennig. While it doesn’t have a name yet, the new game will be set in World War II, and feature Captain America and Black Panther, and was given a fancy trailer during the show. However, as part of the D23 Expo, Hennig also sat down alongside story consultant Marc Bernardin to give fans a bit more insight into the game, including revealing the identities of the other two playable characters....
