Independent developer Skyshine Games has announced a partnership with indie game publisher Versus Evil to bring post-apocalyptic roguelike RPG Bedlam to PC this summer. The game was funded by Kickstarter back in October, raising $166,540. One of the key attractions of the game is its utilisation of Stoic’s Banner Saga engine. “Since going through a pretty amazing Kickstarter experience we’ve been hard at work bringing Bedlam to life and finding the right partner to take the game to all of the players that have supported us along the way,” said John Mueller, art director, Skyshine games....

Fallout: New Vegas from Obsidian Entertainment was a generally beloved game for fans of the post-apocalyptic franchise. Sony has launched a Big in Japan promotion on PlayStation Store, offering more than 300 titles which originate, or are inspired by, Japan or Japanese culture. As the gaming world prepares for the release of BioWare’s upcoming co-operative action-RPG, Anthem, two of the original founders of the nearly 25-year-old company have been recognized for their achievements in the community. On December 27th, 2018, Governor General Julie Payette announced that BioWare’s former founders, Greg Zeschuk and Ray Muzyka, were to be inducted into the Order of Canada, which is an honor given to individuals who have made a positive impact within the lives other people and society as a whole....

For many fans of Canadian-based developer BioWare, the words “role-playing games” have become synonymous with the studio - after showing their pedigree with hit titles Baldur’s Gate, Jade Empire, and Mass Effect. Rockstar Games has revealed that Red Dead Redemption 2 will boast around 200 species of animals as part of a comprehensive ecosystem. Each creature will behave and respond in a unique way to their environment, so they won’t just be plonked in the game world to decorate the wilderness, so to speak. For example, wolves will hunt their quarry in packs, possums will play dead, while herds of deer and bison traverse the large plains as they would in real life....

Earlier this month, Blizzard Entertainment filed a lawsuit against Chinese company Sina Games in response to a free mobile game they developed. Called Glorious Saga, the game included elements that very, very closely resemble parts of Blizzard’s Warcraft series. The lawsuit amounts to a hefty sum, asking for $150,000 per each individual case of infringed work, in addition to compensation for legal and other fees related to the case. Blizzard alleges that every single monster, creature, animal and vehicle as well as many items and sounds were copied from Warcraft....

Bloodborne does support the newly launched Suspend/Resume feature of PS4 firmware 2.50, but only when you’re playing Offline Mode. Checking out the new feature this morning VideoGamer discovered that those who choose the Online Mode – which allows other players to enter your game – will be chucked back to the game’s menu when attempting to resume after suspending. It you want to make use of the handy resume function for Bloodborne you’ll need to choose Offline play....

Surgeon Simulator and I Am Bread developer Bossa Studios has announced its next game, and it’ll see you becoming a pigeon. Pigeon Simulator, as it’s called, will only be an accurate simulation in the same way Goat Simulator accurately potrayed being a goat, and rather will see you causing havoc around the city of Barnardshire while controlling a pigeon. There’s a trailer to go along with the announcement – which we’ve embedded below – and it already shows you can create a lot of havoc as the avian terror, not limited to wearing bread on your head, throwing skateboards at suited businessmen and, naturally, pooping....

Upstart publisher Super.com hopes to add its name to this acclaimed list with its turn-based, tactical offering Broken Lines, and, though it stumbles a bit in terms of narrative and overall presentation, it’s a stunningly inventive title which iterates on well-established genre mechanics, allows for all sorts of differing playstyles and incentivizes multiple playthroughs....

Bungie and Activision have revealed a couple of Destiny 2 logos, marking the start of the game’s marketing campaign. A logo was Tweeted by the official Destiny account, which you can see below. Activision has announced a limited time offer where any player who purchases Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and logs in before December 4 will recieve a free Nuketown Weapon Bundle in game to celebrate the release of the series’ most famous map given a 1984 makeover. As per the Call of Duty blog, the bundle consists of ten items, including the “Last Stop” Epic Shotgun Weapon Blueprint that offers a faster fire rate, better damage range, increased ammo capacity and more, six Weapon Charms, a ‘Test Subjects’ sticker and a ‘Nuketown Legend’ emblem and ‘Ommnibus’ calling card....
