Right now, the world is in panic over the coronavirus, causing many major events to be postponed or even canceled. The coronavirus has also caused tech hardware shortages, with some analysts thinking that it could cause a delay for next-generation consoles, the PS5 and Xbox Series X. But for those worrying that the coronavirus may keep the next-generation consoles from launching on time, their fear may be misplaced. According to AMD Executive Vice President of Computing and Graphics Rick Bergman, speaking at AMD’s Financial Analyst Day, both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X are still expected to launch in their previously announced release windows....

Constantly changing it up with new updates and events, Apex Legends will soon be host to yet another event, which will bring a series of unique modes and features to the popular first-person shooter. Apple today announced that developers have created over 100,000 apps for the App Store, the largest application store in the world. iPhone and iPod touch customers in 77 countries can choose from a huge range of apps in 20 categories, including games, business, news, sports, health, reference and travel, and have downloaded well over two billion apps. “The App Store, now with over 100,000 applications available, is clearly a major differentiator for millions of iPhone and iPod touch customers around the world,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing....

Apple is reportedly developing new augmented reality and virtual reality devices, including a headset focused on gaming, watching videos, and virtual meetings. Anonymous sources told Bloomberg that Apple aims to release the first of these devices in 2021 or 2022. According to Bloomberg a new iPad Pro releasing in the early part of 2020 will feature two camera sensors and the ability to digitally reconstruct three-dimensional rooms, objects, and people. Sources told Bloomberg that this technology will also be coming to high-end iPhones in late 2020....

Ubisoft has revealed that Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will be adding romance options for the first time in the multi-million selling stabby franchise. Odyssey is set in Ancient Greece and allows you to pick from two playable character; a chap named Alexios and female lead Kassandra. Both will have NPCs they are able to woo, a feature that has yet to appear in the series. Romancing comes as part of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’s attempts to embrace the role-playing elements that were introduced in last year’s Assassin’s Creed Origins, with player choice a major factor....

Publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe and Wallace and Gromit creators Aardman Animation have announced they’re enterting into a partnership with each other to develop a brand new IP. Though details on the new IP are light at the moment, the project is said to exist across “multiple media” (and it’s probably safe to assume videogames, given the Tekken studio’s involvement) with both studios intending to be “approaching partners” in early 2021 to get the project made....

Battlefield 2042’s latest map is set to arrive with the release of Season 2 in September. In a developer interview hosted by DICE, lead level designer Shashank Uchil said the team had taken on player feedback by focusing on adding cover and small spaces: “We want to make smaller levels; we want to have levels with more cover.
