Atomic Heart first caught widespread attention all the way back in 2018 with a trailer showing us a Bioshock-like shooter that was set to release “soon”. However, we are now just shy of five years since that initial trailer first splashed its surreal way onto our screens, and with the release now a little over a month away (21st February), the developer has addressed the game’s lengthy development. According to Atomic Heart director Robert Bagratuni, the game’s delay and our subsequent long wait for this release can be attributed to four things - “youth, ambition, innovation and new technology”....

Auto Chess has picked up the Google award for the most innovative game of 2019. Last summer, autobattlers became all the rage. The popular Dota 2 mod, Dota Auto Chess, was taking over the Dota landscape and introduced the world to the “autobattler” genre. After that, both Valve and Riot Games announced their own autobattlers, while the original Auto Chess moved on to become an Epic exclusive title. At E3, Chinese developer Drodo Studio announced the partnership with Epic to create the standalone version of Auto Chess....

The new GeForce Game Ready 353.30 WHQL Batman: Arkham Knight drivers are now available to download from Geforce.co.uk or via the GeForce Experience, Nvidia has announced. The Game Ready driver features specific Batman: Arkham Knight optimisations and a SLI profile, meaning they come highly recommended if you plan on being the Batman. Batman: Arkham Knight on PC offers additional detail, higher rendering resolutions and a range of Nvidia GameWorks effects including interactive fog and smoke, interactive paper debris, PhysX Destruction, and Enhanced Rain....

WB Games Montreal is at it again. This time, they’ve taken to Twitter to share a new image (logo?) that seems to be teasing a new Batman game. The image below almost looks like the symbol of the GCPD: There’s not a lot to really talk about in terms of confirmed information, but “Capture the Knight” certainly feels like a Batman-related piece of text. PS4 players will receive five days early access to Battleborn’s open beta when it goes live early next month, 2K has confirmed. The beta will begin on PS4 on Friday, April 8, before opening up to Xbox One and PC players on Wednesday, April 13. It’ll end on all platforms on April 18. The open beta will provide access to a decent amount of content, too, including two story episodes – Void’s Edge and The Algorithm – two competitive multiplayer modes – Incursion and Meltdown – and all 25 playable characters, loot and gear....

New figures show that player numbers for DICE’s Battlefield 2042 keep on falling, with less than 1000 concurrent users playing via Steam this morning. A thread on ResetEra revealed that as few as 979 players were shown to be taking part in the game on Steam earlier today, with a peak of 2411 players in the last 24 hours. In comparison, 2018’s Battlefield 5 had a peak of 20,913 players over the same 24-hour period....

Yesterday, Bioware posted an interesting short story that provides some interesting lore about Sa’har Kateen, a force-sensitive Twi’lek padawan that has been a big focus of the Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR) story ever since the most recent 7.1 patch update. The short story focuses on Kateen’s journey stowing away on a transport, as she hopes to find her missing brother while also battling some heavy and emotional internal conflict....

Blizzard has provided additional details of next week’s World of Warcraft expansion reveal, confirming the event - previously announced to be airing on Tuesday, 19th April - will commence at 5pm BST/6pm CEST/9am PT/12pm ET. “World of Warcraft has ignited imaginations through rich storytelling and expansive worlds that prevail throughout the Shadowlands expansion,” Blizzard wrote in an its announcement of today’s news. “From the hopeless depths of the Maw to the ethereal plains of Zereth Mortis, the Shadowlands delivers a world that challenges heroes to confront the forces that threaten to upset the cosmic balance between life and death....

If there’s one company that Sony trusts with handling its remakes, it’s Bluepoint Games. The company has handled several major remakes for Sony, from Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection to the God of War Collection and 2018’s Shadow of The Colossus remake. And while those games are all special, Bluepoint’s next project has the company incredibly excited, which should get gamers excited too. Bluepoint hasn’t announced precisely what the company is working on, though it is confirmed that it will debut on the PlayStation 5....

The Legend of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2’s voice work is not finished, though reports claimed that the game was nearing the end of its development cycle. Furthermore, the lighthearted tone of the podcast means that they may well have been joking about their roles in Breath of the Wild 2. Resultantly, we don’t know how far along the game is in its development cycle, and Nintendo is tightlipped for now....

Treyarch announced during its San Diego Comic-Con panel yesterday that it will release a Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Mystery Box Edition. Based on the item of the same name in the game’s Zombies mode, the Mystery Box Edition, apart from looking a bit on the ugly side, includes the box itself, plus a bunch of physical extras. And yes, that includes Black Ops 4 itself. Aside from a copy of the first-person shooter, you’ll get Zombies Heroes FiGPiNs (Scarlett Rhodes, Bruno Delacroix, Diego Necalli, and Stanton Shaw), a 10th anniversary 1,000 piece zombies puzzle, issue #1 of Dark Horse’s Zombies comic with an exclusive cover, three lithographs, a skull-logo Black Ops 4 PopSocket, collectible steelbook with unique art, icon patches, and finally, the Black Ops Pass....

Riot Games has banned almost 9,000 players from Valorant for underhanded methods in matches (via GameSpot). Its closed beta has been available for those who have been offered a beta key or snapped one up from “specific Valorant streams.” The Vanguard software, which is mandatory for all Valorant players, attempts to track and identify dishonest gameplay and flag these players up to Riot Games. Some may be unhappy with the use of the kernel driver, but it’s certainly doing the job....

A planned Animal Crossing game for mobile devices will no longer be released during Nintendo’s current financial year which ends March 31. Nintendo said the game has been pushed into the next financial year – beginning April 1 – to make room for the launches of Fire Emblem Heroes on February 2 and the March launch of Super Mario Run on Android devices. Regarding Super Mario Run, Nintendo said the game surpassed 40 million downloads in only four days, though hasn’t said how many users went on to make a purchase....

With the addition of the lavish, diverse landscapes that comprise the new World’s Edge map, the cool new Legend known as Crypto, and some rotating challenges and game modes, Apex Legends is looking stronger than ever. Yet, while this FPS had burst onto the gaming scene as an instant hit, thanks to its well-crafted and entertaining Battle Royale gameplay, it’s still not without its flaws and quirks. Even after a handful of patches, tweaks, and additions from Respawn Entertainment, there are still some touch-ups and changes that could further benefit Apex in terms of its features, limitations, and overall Quality of Life....

After Respawn Entertainment pulled the ol’ switcheroo by touting Forge as the forthcoming Apex Legends legend until his sudden, bloody death, the community began to focus on the identity of his killer.
