New PC and PlayStation release Babylon’s Fall appears to have flopped on Steam. Published by Square Enix and developed by Platinum Games, the multiplayer hack-and-slash RPG currently has a peak of just 874 players on Steam, and a “Mixed” rating for user reviews. It currently sits well outside Steam’s top 200 most popular games. User reviews have criticised Babylon’s Fall for its games as a service elements, monetisation model and £60 price tag....
With Netflix going hard on interactive movies like Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, it was only a matter of time before other studios started experimenting with them. Now, DC’s animated movie division has figured out a way to use the format to make a true-to-life adaptation. With Batman: Death in the Family, a new animated short film, the fans will get decide whether Robin (aka Jason Todd) lives or dies. Announced by IGN, the movie version of Death in the Family will be fully interactive and let viewers choose one of multiple, branching fates for Jason Todd....
A Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Car Pack will be released for Rocket League on March 8, Psyonix and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have announced. The car pack will give players the ability to get behind the wheel of a faithfully recreated version of the Batmobile from the upcoming DC Comics movie. Also included in the DLC are three Antenna Flags allowing players to show their allegiance to Batman, Superman or Wonder Woman....
Call of Duty WWII may have done well for itself this weekend, but EA isn’t going to let them be the only war-based shooter to take the headlines as it’s announced that the Nivelle Nights map is now available to all owners of Battlefield 1. The game’s first map set at night time, Nivelle Nights was previously only available as a bonus map to Premium Pass owners and sees the French and German army clashing in the trenches and No Man’s Land around Malmaison and Soupir....
With all of the recent media released for Battlefield 3, one would think DICE and Electronic Arts are going to run out of things to showcase before we even get to E3. Folk music enthusiasts loved Bob Dylan when he played his acoustic set at the 1963 Newport Folk Festival. Boyfriend Dungeon’s DLC has been surprise released today, just after the game’s one year anniversary. The free DLC was announced back in June but without a release date. The Secret Weapons update includes a new dungeon and new dateable weapons, including Dr. Holmes the Whip designed by CEO and creative director at Unseen Inc., Ikumi Nakamura (former director of Ghostwire Tokyo). Bugsnax certainly struck a chord when it was revealed earlier in the summer. The part-bug, part-snax game by the developer of Octodad had a lovely mix of color, charm, and weird. It’s definitely creative, even though it looks akin to Pokémon but with edible monsters. Earlier today, developer Young Horses announced that the game is making its way onto PC soon. Bugsnax is set for a release date of November 12, and will launch on the Epic Games Store....
Destiny franchise director Luke Smith has shed some light on where the folks at Bungie are at now they’ve split from publisher Activision. In the developer’s weekly update, Smith first thanked Activision, as well as support devs High Moon Studios, ‘for their wonderful collaboration on Forsaken,’ and Vicarious Visions for helping to ’establish a Destiny community on PC, worked with us on Warmind, and who is currently readying their Destiny swan song with content that will appear in the upcoming Season of [Redacted]....
Animal Crossing: New Horizons patch 1.1.4 has altered the rates of “some” eggs appearing during the Bunny Day event (via VGC). In the Easter-themed event, different types of eggs spawn on islands after Zipper T. Bunny arrives. These eggs—found in the earth, trees, sky, stones, and water—can be crafted into a number of different seasonal items, from furniture to outfits. However, players have been less than happy about the frequency of the eggs’ appearance when they’d rather get something with a higher value....
Mobile game company DeNA has revealed that it is working on a new smartphone game for Nintendo that will use the Pokemon franchise during its latest Finanical Year Earnings report. Apex Legends Mobile on iOS Apex Legends Mobile is, thankfully, better than just a carbon copy of the PC and console versions of the game. It offers more than what a smaller, more portable version of Apex Legends would — the game has its own separate identity with exclusive content that should pique the interest of existing players, giving them a reason to pick it up and try it out. Though, my iPhone 8 did struggle to run the game at certain points, so quality may vary depending on your mobile device....
