Argos has said that it will honour cheap pre-orders for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s Legacy Edition placed over the weekend. The edition was temporarily reduced on Saturday to £39.99 on both PS4 and Xbox One – £30 cheaper than its usual £69.99 price. But after initially telling me that the price was an “error” and that orders would be “cancelled and refunded”, Argos support clarified today that they would, in fact, be honoured....

Ubisoft has revealed that Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is going down the whole ‘games-as-a-service’ route, with the publishing giant looking to roll out weekly updates for the upcoming neck-slitting sequel. Speaking with GI.biz, Alain Corre, Ubisoft’s Executive Director for EMEA, said the company is aiming to keep things ticking over following Odyssey’s release, so there’s ‘always something new, something fresh and something they can discover and appreciate.’ ‘Yes, it’s a service,’ he confirmed....

Segment Next has spotted a BioWare job listing which reveals that the studio is working to hire a technical director to work on a new game in one of their franchises. “You will be the most senior engineering lead on the next major title in one of BioWare’s most prestigious franchises, and a contributing leader to BioWare studio strategy,” reads the text of the job listing. “You will partner with the other disciplines to build the technology and the programming team to deliver amazing player experiences....

I’m often iffy on Metroid-likes releasing into Early Access.
