Since launch, Borderlands 3 players have quickly discovered that FL4K the Beastmaster is quite easily the most powerful character in the game with the right build. Borderlands 3 players have also realized that Zane the Operative is the least viable Vault Hunter for endgame content. And now Gearbox has taken a step to the rectify the situation, issuing a new Borderlands 3 hotfix that buffs Zane and nerfs FL4K. The new Borderlands 3 hotfix will be issued by 3:00pm PT on September 27....

Developer Frictional Games has shown off five minutes of gameplay footage from upcoming first-person horror sequel Amnesia: Rebirth. The trailer, which we’ve posted below, shows off some of the game’s puzzle solving elements and physics interactions, and even gives us a brief glimpse of one of the creatures we’ll be trying our hardest to keep away from when the game launches next month. Currently at number seven on HBO’s most-viewed charts after climbing eight spots in one day, the Baz Luhrmann-directed film isn’t planning on stopping. The whole world has gotten Elvis fever, as the film is top 3 on streaming in places as different as Australia, Ireland, or Turkmenistan....

We’ve been keeping an eye on this for the past couple of days after players of Anno 2070 discovered they could not play the game at all. Nearly four days later it’s still not working. The issue was reported on the Ubisoft forum on Tuesday when players discovered an “Unknown error” message popped up while trying to play. Players are now pointing the finger at the DRM although Ubisoft has not confirmed what the issue actually is....

EA and Respawn Entertainment have announced that popular battle royale shooter Apex Legends is to get a Champion Edition, bundling up every new character released since launch alongside some exclusive skins and charms. The Champion Edition will offer up every new character for the game so far, so that’s Caustic, Mirage, Octane, Wattson, Crypto, Revenant, Loba, Rampart and the next character, set to launch at the same time Season Seven drops....

Ubisoft has announced a surprise update for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey adding a 60FPS mode when played on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. Title update 1.6 was revealed last night, with the patch dropping early this morning. Coming in at around 370MB on Xbox Series X|S and 470MB on PlayStation 5 the notes are succinct, but it’s nonetheless a welcome addition to the 2018 entry. It helps that it’s arguably the best outing for the series since its soft reboot in 2017’s Assassin’s Creed Origins....

The semiannual speedrunning marathon Games Done Quick (GDQ) has returned, which means that there is already a 24 hour-a-day speedrunning livestream on the GDQ website. Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ), one of the group’s two marquees, is doing week-long speedrunning event, with donations going to the Prevent Cancer Foundation. This year’s AGDQ includes a number of 2019’s hits, which is something of a rarity for a speedrunning marathon. New releases don’t usually show up in GDQ marathons for a number of reasons....

Awesome Games Done Quick has ended with a record-setting $2.3 million raised for charity. Last week, the annual event known as Awesome Games Done Quick saw speedrunners from around the country all congregate in Rockville, Maryland at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel to set records in the name of supporting a noble cause. In this case, the cause is the Prevent Cancer Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to early testing and prevention of cancer....

Fans of YouTube user Mark “Markiplier” Fischbach were met with an unpleasant surprise this week, with viewers receiving undue account bans from Google’s video platform after participating in a livestream chat. Markiplier took to the service to express his frustration with the issue in a video posted Saturday. Originally from Honolulu, HI and currently based in Los Angeles, Markiplier has 24 million YouTube subscribers and has become one of the platform’s best known dedicated gaming channels since initially launching in 2012, entertaining viewers around the world with funny game playthroughs and original content....

Assassin’s Creed Origins hero Bayek has is now available to hire as a lieutenant for your ship in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Ubisoft has announced. He’s now waiting at the Ubisoft Club and can be snapped up for just 40 Units, after which you can hire him as part of your crew to oversee things on the Adrestia. He’s not the only familiar face to pop up in Odyssey; Assassin’s Creed Syndicate’s Evie Frye is also a lieutenant in the game....

Back in the olden days of 1996, Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue came out concurrently. Though they were broadly the same game, each had a set of Pokémon exclusives to that particular version.
