Developer Funselektor Labs has announced that rally racing game Art of Rally will head to PlayStation 5 and PS4 on October 6. The game originally launched on PC in September of last year, before coming to Xbox and Nintendo Switch back in August. It’s dubbed as a stylised experience where you’ll drive through a series of races based around the history of rally. You’ll get behind the wheel of more 60 cars based on iconic vintage rally vehicles across a whopping 72 stages....

Tomorrow the Assassin’s Creed Origins The Curse of the Pharaohs DLC releases and there are some moving visuals to enjoy in the launch trailer. The DLC takes place four years after the events of Assassin’s Creed Origins and Bayek travels to the Thebes to investigate a curse that’s been unleashed on the region. No trip to Thebes would be complete without dropping by the impressive Temple of Karnak or the Valley of the Kings and that’s where players will be heading....

During Nintendo’s E3 2019 Nintendo briefing, it was announced that Banjo and Kazooie are joining the roster of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The trailer was brilliant, in that it was a rollercoaster of emotions. First, we thought we glimpsed the silhouette of Banjo and Kazooie; then, it was revealed to be Duck Hunt Dog with that stupid duck on his shoulder; and finally, the true pairing was revealed. This has been something that fans have clamoured for for a long time, and it means a partnership, however briefly, between Rare and Nintendo....

Battalion 1944 developer Bulkhead Interactive is developing a new IP for Square Enix, with the Tomb Raider publisher also now claiming at 20% stake in the Derby-based studio. Both Battalion 1944 and The Turning Test were released under Square Enix Collective label, with the company’s studio head, Phil Elliott, now joining Bulkhead’s Board of Directors. Battalion 1944 meanwhile is due to pack its bags and leave Early Access in 2019....

EA has started inviting players to a closed alpha test for Battlefield 1. Codes granting access to the alpha were issued to select users last night, although it isn’t clear how many players were invited or how they were selected. The alpha is reportedly available on PS4, Xbox One and PC. “Help us Test Battlefield 1”, says an email sent out to invited players (as posted on Reddit). “Experience the dawn of all out war in the Battlefield 1 Closed Alpha....

Fallout 76 has a battle royale mode, because of course it does. Well, it’s somewhat more complicated than that. Bill Gardner was a Lead Level Designer on BioShock and Design Director for BioShock Infinite. But in a Reddit AMA promoting his new game, Perception, he reveals his first job in games was working at Gamestop. When asked by one Redditor how he went from Gamestop Employee to working in the industry, Gardner replied ‘There is no real set path. BioWare is working on a new entry to one of its “most prestigious franchises,” and I’m really, really, really hoping it’s another Mass Effect game (via games radar). Electronic Arts is seeking a technical director for this undertaking, to become the “most senior engineering lead on the next major title in one of BioWare’s most prestigious franchises.” The applicant will also need to have had experience “developing, debugging and optimizing AAA multiplayer games on PC or console....

Mike Morhaime has announced that he’s stepping down as CEO and president of Blizzard Entertainment, and will now slide into the role of advisor. Morhaime has been with the World of Warcraft developer since its inception in 1991, when it was founded as Silicon & Synapse, Inc. J Allen Brack, former executive producer and senior vice president for World of Warcraft, will take his place, with Ray Gresko moving to chief development officer and Allen Adham joining the executive leadership team....

BlizzCon is typically a great time for Blizzard fans the world over to rally around one of their favorite developers. While the company hasn’t been entirely in the internet’s good graces as of late, it did bring some big new announcements to this year’s show to try and win back some favor. Diablo 4 Arguably the biggest, though also the most leaked, announcement from this year’s BlizzCon is Diablo 4, the next entry in the isometric looter franchise....

Virtual tickets to BlizzCon 2016 at Anaheim, California, are now available to buy priced $39.99, Blizzard has announced. BlizzCon 2016 takes place November 4 and 5 at the Anaheim Convention Center, but the Virtual Ticket makes it possible for fans from all over the world to tune into live HD coverage of the show on two online channels. “It’s incredible to think that we’re getting ready for our tenth BlizzCon,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment....

One thing many fans noticed about Borderlands 3 is the lack of Handsome Jack. The devs did go on to tell everyone why they were interested in moving passed the villain to someone new, as many felt that it would undermine events that took place in Borderlands 2 and The Pre-Sequel, so fans shouldn’t be expecting a surprise return in DLC. That doesn’t mean that Handsome Jack, the beloved Borderlands villain with a quip, would be completely off of the table for 3....

The Vault Hunters in Borderlands 3 have some interesting skills that make for some interesting playstyles, especially when coupled with legendary class mods. The class mods in the game can augment already strong abilities or tweak the game’s mechanics to result in entirely new builds based solely around the class mod. The strongest class mods at the moment are based on how strong the underlying build is. Some recent buffs and nerfs have shaken things up a bit, but right now these are considered the best class mods among the fan base....

The next big looter shooter, Borderlands 3, is just over a month away, so gamers don’t have much longer to wait before they can set out as vault hunters and explore the galaxy. Luckily, developer Gearbox is now showing off a bit more of the game, including one of its all-new planets, Eden-6. Eden-6 is described as a “lush backwater swamp planet”, and is also home to the Jakobs Estate, which belongs to the manufacturer of weapons found throughout the Borderlands series....

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has taken the lid off the wealth of free content coming to the game alongside sister free-to-play title Call of Duty: Warzone for Season Two ahead of its launch next week. As per the Call of Duty blog, Season Two’s offerings include four new Operators: Naga, Maxis, Wolf and Rivas. Six new weapons including the FARA 83 assault rifle, LC10 SMG, Machete, E-Tool, R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow and ZRG 20mm Sniper....

This American Gods review contains spoilers. American Gods Season 2 Episode 7 Only two characters have felt completely “on” in American Gods Season 2. Laura Moon is one. The other is her frequent scene partner, Mad Sweeney. I’ve praised their scenes together this season as some of the better ones thus far, and that praise continues when they’re separated from one another, too. The rest of the ensemble may seem a bit groundless, but Mad Sweeney continues to be the anchor of the second season, keeping American Gods from going adrift in stormy seas....

In a way, the Texas map expansion for American Truck Simulator feels like a moment that the developers at SCS Software has spent nearly seven years building up to. The game has grown considerably in complexity and scope since its humble 2016 roots, and the expansion feels like the embodiment of that effort. This is fitting, since American Truck Simulator – Texas this is arguably the magnum opus for the rest of the sim’s life....

BioWare has recently announced that some of Anthem’s anticipated features, including the Cataclysm event, will be delayed. After a rocky start to the month, things were finally beginning to look up for Anthem players. The delayed livestream went ahead and a large game patch hit and brought with it the new Sunken Cell Stronghold, some new features, and a number of bug fixes. However, then it all went wrong. In a move that pretty much everyone saw coming, BioWare put out an announcement with the patch that stated several other anticipated features, due to be released soon, are now delayed for an unspecified amount of time....
