In a shocking turn of events, the governor of Silesian, Jarosław Wieczorek, revoked ESL’s “Mass-Event” license required to hold the long-planned Intel Extreme Masters event in Katowice, Poland. The cancellation is due to “changes in the global health situation.” The tournament itself will go on, but the mandate disallows those who purchased tickets to attend the event. Due to its last-minute nature, the news resulted in widespread hysteria from the droves of fans who made plans to appear in-person....

Electronic Arts failed at overtaking Call of Duty last year with their Medal of Honor reboot and Battlefield: Bad Company 2, so much so that they admitted that Medal of Honor didn’t even meet their own expectations. Splatoon 3 has already leaked online, including major spoilers for the game’s story mode. Splatoon 3 will release on 9th September, but leaks were being posted online almost a week before that date. Activision has announced details on Call of Duty: Black Ops 3’s first DLC map pack, Awakening. Due for release in early 2016, the map pack will include four brand new multiplayer maps – Skyjacked, Rise, Splash and Gauntlet – plus a brand new Zombies map ‘Der Eisendrachen’. Awakening will be available first on PS4, before arriving on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC 30 days later. A price and exact release date for the pack have yet to be announced, nor do we know much about the maps themselves....

It seems that the merchandise people just couldn’t wait for an official reveal, as they decided to upload posters and t-shirts on the Blizzcon gear website for an upcoming Diablo project called Diablo: Reign of Terror. Blizzard likely wanted to announce the next big Diablo project during their upcoming Blizzcon convention, where the game could be shown at it’s best with an awesome trailer that excites fans and intrigues those who may be tempted to try the series out for the first time....

Overwatch 2 was first announced back at BlizzCon 2019. It was in an early stage of development at the time and further details took some time to arrive. At this year’s BlizzCon, Blizzard showed off some PvE aspects such as the new ability tech trees. Now the AAA publisher is finally ready to showcase the multiplayer PvP gameplay of Overwatch 2. The Castlevania spiritual successor Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night now has a release date. The game lands on PC on June 18, which is really not that far off. To celebrate the news, publisher 505 Games also released a trailer that takes a cheeky jab at commenters complaining about the game. Bad news for fans of tabletop games: as part of a fairly controversial economic mandate against China, the US government has called for a tax hike on, amid a laundry list of other goods, dice, board games, and presumably game pieces. Bungie has filed a lawsuit against a Destiny 2 player, accusing them of cheating and harassing the game’s developers. The player, Luca Leone, regularly streamed the game using cheats on his Twitch channel miffysworld, for which Bungie repeatedly banned him. Leone created 13 separate accounts in an attempt to evade bans, with each account violating the game’s Limited Software License Agreement. Leone sent threatening messages from his Twitter account, about his desire to “burn down” Bungie’s offices and declaring certain Bungie employees were “not safe” as he intended to move to their neighbourhood - including community manager Dylan Gafner....

Amy Hennig is creating a new and original story-driven action game set in the Star Wars universe. Skydance New Media announced today that it is collaborating with Lucasfilm Games on the project that sees studio President Amy Hennig return to Star Wars game development. The award-winning director and writer previously worked on celebrated games such as the Uncharted and Legacy of Kain franchises. As part of the news release, Hennig said, “ I’m elated to be working with Lucasfilm Games again to tell interactive stories in the galaxy that I love....

We may have thought we were done with Alien: Isolation, but it apparently isn’t done with us. According to a recent report by Observer, an animated series based on the 2014 game is on the way, and we assume it may continue the story of Amanda Ripley. It’s been an exciting journey for Ripley. She started off as a character whose only existence was a one-off mention in a deleted scene in Aliens....

The characters of Elden Ring can now go at it thanks to an impressive Tekken 7 mod. The mod, created by Ultraboy, allows PC players to take control of eight characters from FromSoftware’s latest action RPG. These include Radahn, Ranni the Witch, Alexander the Iron Fist, Melina, and even the horrifying lobster. The mod is so impressive that famous Tekken director and producer, Katsuhiro Harada, felt the need to go on Twitter and announce that it isn’t an official creation....

Attendees of this year’s Game Developers Conference (GDC) are in for a treat, as Nintendo has announced an hour-long session devoted to Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Titled, “Creating a New Horizon: Bringing Animal Crossing to Nintendo Switch,” the presentation will take an in-depth look at the process behind adapting the beloved franchise for a new console. Led by Producer Hisashi Nogami and Director Aya Kyogoku, the session promises to reveal the many secrets that go into crafting such a whimsical world full of adorable animals....

The Iron Crown Collection event is now underway, but Apex Legends fans aren’t exactly happy with it.
