Activision and Treyarch have unveiled the PlayStation-exclusive mode for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War in the form of Zombie Onslaught. Revealing the new mode on the PlayStation Blog, Zombie Onslaught sees you and a buddy team up to take on waves of zombies on the game’s multiplayer maps as you power up a Dark Aether Orb. Killing more zoms builds up the Orbs power until it moves to a different area of the map, and while you’re in it you won’t take damage from said Dark Aether like a kind of safe zone....

There were, however, a pretty decent selection of discounted Nintendo Switch OLED bundles, including ones that came with the choice of either Pokemon Legends: Arceus or Metroid Dread for only £309 - essentially offering the game for free. As expected, first party Switch games were not heavily discounted, and only had a couple of quid knocked off on the second day. SD card deals were probably one of the biggest highlights of Prime Day....

BioWare has cobbled together another update for Anthem, as the studio continues to polish the troubled loot-shooter following its launch back in February. This latest patch, v1.0.4.02, is primary focused on bug fixes. The update is out now on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One, and includes fixes related to Elysian Caches, where items would not appear until you rebooted the game or started up another activity. In addition, the newsfeed has been improved, so it’ll now display content once you fire up the game....

The Apex Legends Fight Night patch rolled out yesterday. It’s an homage to Pathfinder and begins digging into his origin story. It added a Town Takeover dedicated to the Legend and introduced a new collection event with a bunch of cosmetics for players to earn. The Fight Night patch also made a few changes to some of the Apex Legends characters. However, just before the patch shipped, Respawn Entertainment decided to adjust some of these balance changes....

A new trailer for Persona 5 has been released by publisher Atlus. The video features both in-game footage and snippets of cutscenes, as well as some clips of Persona’s classic slick menu system and new battle animations. We get to meet the new core group of characters, and see them hanging out at a bar with a strange-looking cat. The game is currently listed for a 2015 release on both PS3 and PS4....

Battlefield 2042 just can’t catch a break. Earlier this week, DICE announced it would push back the game’s first season of content updates from the rumoured release month of March to the summer, in order to work on the considerable number of problems plaguing the game and add features such as VOIP chat and an improved scoreboard. Now, DICE has announced the proposed scoreboard update that was scheduled for later this month has been pushed back to March....

With its stunning 3D visuals, it’s hard not to admit that BattleTech looks really good. This 2018 release from Harebrained Schemes brought MechWarrior fans a turn-based spin on mech action. Since release, the developer continued to deliver content in the form of post-launch DLC. Battlezone VR for PlayStation VR will feature a campaign mode which promises endless replayability thanks to its ever-changing maps, missions and weapons, Rebellion’s CEO and creative director Jason Kingsley has revealed. Gearbox Creative Director Paul Sage is keen to cast Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson in the upcoming film adaptation of Borderlands. As Zane? As Axton? As Roland? No. As Claptrap, of course. The film is in its early stages of development in the hands of Lionhead Studios, and Venom producer Avi Arad informing the project’s direction. Borderlands is being added to Xbox One backwards compatibility today, Microsoft has announced. Provided you own a physical or digital copy of the Xbox 360 original, the game will be playable to Xbox One preview program members the moment it’s added, and to all other users once backwards compatibility rolls out publicly this November. The game’s DLC is also supported, and players are able to continue where they left off by transferring their save game to the cloud....
