For several months, Borderlands 3 was one of the games most often associated with Google Stadia, joining the likes of Destiny 2: Shadowkeep and Red Dead Redemption 2 to hype Stadia and its promise of console-free AAA gaming as the way of the future. However, now that the game has finally arrived for it, players are finding that the version they’ve gotten is still stuck in the past. Starting today, Borderlands 3 is now available on Stadia, introducing Gearbox Software’s latest looter-shooter to a whole new platform’s worth of players, but unfortunately it’s not in its most current state....

Hot on the heels of the release of their Game of the Year Edition, Gearbox Software will be releasing another title update for its role-playing shooter Borderlands. The update will be coming free of charge for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC versions at the same time, so nobody will be left out. What will be coming with this particular update? Obviously, most people will be happy about the level cap raising, adding hours of gameplay for those who like to ding the max levels in any RPG....

Destiny 2 is at an all-time low in terms of players and enjoyment for the game. With content droughts lasting for weeks on end, a lackluster Halloween event, and a near unplayable PvP experience with Linear Fusion Rifles dominating the scene, things aren’t looking good. Just when all hope for the season seemed lost, Bungie announced on Twitter that an incoming nerf for Linear Fusion Rifles, that was originally planned for Season 19, is instead dropping this Tuesday, Nov....

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3’s Zombies mode has been getting some attention lately, and the Collector’s Edition-exclusive The Giant map has now received its own trailer. The map, which is a remake of the Der Riese map from Call of Duty: World at War, is only available to players who pre-order the collector’s editions, including the ‘Juggernog Edition’ which also comes with a fridge. Black Ops 3’s main Zombies mode has also been given a new trailer, and it looks pretty impressive with its Bioshock-esque aesthetic and mix of Hollywood A-listers, including Jeff Goldblum and Ron Perlman....

On January 9, Serial Box launched their newest title: a science fiction drama set in a war-and-disaster-torn future Japan. Ninth Step Station, created by Malka Older with a writing team that includes Fran Wilde, Jacqueline Koyanagi, and Curtis C. Chen, is part cop drama and part political thriller, pushed along with a solid dose of weird science fiction. New “episodes” are released every Wednesday. In Ninth Step Station‘s version of 2033 Tokyo, sci-fi elements like body modification (cosmetic and weirdly functional, like cybernetic eyes that privately access digital information and infrared vision) and sleeves that work like tablets, cell phones, and ID rolled into one, are commonplace....

Both Innersloth and Insomniac had a pretty strong end to 2021, as evidenced by the PS5’s digital download charts just released by Sony. Both Among Us (which had only just launched on PlayStation consoles a few weeks back) and Spider-Man: Miles Morales took the top two spots on the chart for December 2021. The sudden surge in popularity for Among Us can, of course, be explained by the fact that the game had only just made its way to PlayStation consoles last year....

With its meteoric rise to the top of Steam’s top seller list and Twitch’s categories, Among Us has run into the same problems any popular game can expect. Among Us has been rife with cheaters and bugs for a while now, and the game’s servers are still lacking. Players who can host a server on their first attempt might as well go out and buy a lottery ticket. But, developer InnerSloth has plans for fixing all the game’s issues, although they might take a while to actually reach players....

An extensive Animal Crossing: New Horizons datamine has unveiled a lot of possible features for the social sim game, like add-ons for the Museum, harvesting vegetables, and the return of Redd (via Animal Crossing World). Firstly, the datamine alleges that there are two more buildings to be added onto the island’s Museum. This is alongside the expansion for an art gallery (more on this in a moment). These two buildings are the Museum Shop and a Museum Café, which would return from earlier games in the series....

Respawn Entertainment has released a new trailer for the latest season of Apex Legends, titled Saviors, that showcases gameplay of the new Legend Newcastle, as well as changes coming to the Storm Point map. From the trailer, a marooned leviathan is visible as a new point of interest on Storm Point. Players will be able to battle in and around the body of the beast. Lead Level Designer Jeff Shaw has said that “the best loot is inside the belly of the beast....

In an update described as ‘a roller coaster of emotions’, the dev team for Ark: Survival Evolved confirmed that yes, the game has officially gone gold, but it’s not going to meet its initial release date of August 8. The game, and its free DLC Ragnarok, have both been pushed to August 29. The reason given is that going gold took longer than the team expected. The post says the team are deeply apologetic for the delay, and that they ‘wanted to address this sooner but did not want to make any statements until we were completely sure of what was going to happen....

The Vikings are coming. Ubisoft has officially unveiled Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, the latest game in the studio’s tent-pole franchise. It will release for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Stadia by the end of 2020. Set in the British Isles during the 9th century AD, the game will tell the story of Vikings clashing against fractured Norman kingdoms. In an interesting twist, players will take on the role of invaders, playing as Eivor, a Viking clan leader, who faces off against the English King Alfred of Wessex....

The trend of assassins over the last half decade has been to make them more flashy than wise, which is a shame as Assassin’s Creed originally started out with the protagonist, Altair, deep in wisdom. He remains the wisest protagonist in the series, and his legend is such that assassins almost a thousand years after Altair’s death still held him in high regard. Even we can learn a thing or two from Altair, as his sayings were far reaching enough for us to apply in real life too....

It isn’t often that developers try and match the high-octane intensity of character action games. Devil May Cry and Bayonetta set the standard for those, and there are rarely any games that can compete. Pulling off the fast, flashy, and highly technical gameplay is a rather tall order. Yet surprisingly, a lone developer, Wazen, has done just that with Assault Spy. Assault Spy predominately tells the story of a spy named Asaru Vito....

In Bad Times at the El Royale, the new movie from writer/director Drew Goddard, a seemingly random group of seven individuals all intersect at a roadside motel on the border of California and Nevada that has clearly seen better days — like a lot of the characters themselves. The eighth major character in the film is the El Royale itself, which struck a chord with cast member Jon Hamm. The former Mad Men star, who plays vacuum cleaner salesman Laramie Seymour Sullivan in the film, says that places like the El Royale were a part of his childhood....

Remasters of all three BioShock games may be heading to PS4 and Xbox One this November, judging by a leaked listing from a South African retailer. Online retailer Raru posted details of The BioShock Collection this weekend, with a release allegedly set for November 27 on both PS4 and Xbox One. The listing was later removed, but still exists in Google Cache. 2K Games has yet to announce The BioShock Collection but, if it’s real, it’s likely it to contain remastered versions of last-gen’s BioShock titles ‘BioShock’, ‘BioShock 2’ and ‘BioShock Infinite’....
