Electronic Arts has confirmed that Firestorm, Battlefield V’s dedicated battle royale offering, will not roll out until March 2019. We might be getting a sequel to Observer, based on this video posted by developer Bloober Team (via Gematsu). The flickering video is subtitled with binary code that reads, “Daniel, are you there?” The description says “new_incoming_call_” and “sig: ch120n 1nc02p02473d_.” Police detective Daniel Lazarski was the hero of Observer, and Chiron Incorporated was the company that installed the Fifth Polish Republic after the nanophage killed thousands of Polish citizens. To tiptoe around spoilers, the ending of Observer was quite… definitive, no matter the choice the player made....

Borderlands 3 is preparing for the release of its upcoming Takedown at Maliwan’s Blacksite endgame content, which will become permanently available to all players who finish the game’s main campaign. Gearbox is promising all-new legendary gear specific to the Takedown at Maliwan’s Blacksite map along with the DLC, and the second episode of The Borderlands Show offered a first look at the gear in question. Burnout Paradise is finally joining Xbox One backward compatibility next month today, Microsoft has announced – and it’ll be available for free with December’s Games with Gold. The smashing racer will be available free to Gold users from December 16, and will be playable across both Xbox 360 and Xbox One. AMD’s brand-new upscaling technology, FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 (FSR 2.0), is heading to Xbox. The chipmaker announced at GDC that FSR 2.0 “will also be fully supported on Xbox and will be available in the Xbox GDK for registered developers to use in their games” (thanks, The Verge).
