Last week, we saw the introduction of Basil II of Byzantium. Today, Firaxis has provided a first look at the other leader that joins Civilization VI: New Frontiers Pass‘ next DLC. It’s none other than Ambiorix of the Gauls. Looks like I messed up this guess too since I initially expected it’d be Vercingetorix. In any case, you can watch the reveal video below. AMD has released its new AMD Catalyst 15.7 Driver, promising seamless support for Windows 10 and DirectX 12 across compatible AMD APU and GPU solutions. Respawn released its Apex Legends Season 3 launch trailer and it’s chock full of interesting details. Beyond revealing a new map, Crypto details and character lore hints (someone save Arthur!), there’s an incredible Easter egg in the first few seconds of the trailer. About ten seconds in, Octane plays three different video games on three separate screens. Astute observers were quick to point out that top screen shows him playing Titanfall 2, which is Respawn’s precursor to Apex Legends....

Ubisoft’s brilliant Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will become available via Xbox and PC Game Pass today, Microsoft has announced. The reveal came during an unusually packed Tokyo Game Show livestream from Xbox, which also included Game Pass confirmations of the Ni No Kuni series, and an Xbox release date for Deathloop. Odyssey is the Assassin’s Creed game set in Ancient Greece, and its deepest dive into the RPG genre. It’s a warm, enjoyable and expansive experience - and one of the highlights of the whole series....

Classical MMO Astellia and hardcore MMO Astaria were both set to release on Steam today, except one did not. Baruson E&A and Studio8’s Astellia, which was originally released in September of last year, has successfully made its way to Steam and is currently purchasable for any fan that has been eagerly waiting. However, fans of developer PlayAstaria’s anticipated MMO will not be as happy, as Astaria has been hit with more delays and will not be releasing for its scheduled Steam Early Access launch....

Nicolas Doucet, the director and producer of Astro Bot Rescue Mission, has been promoted to the position of creative director for SIE Japan Studio (via Twinfinite). Allan Becker held the role previously, as company president, though it is unclear whether he stepped down or moved to another position within Sony. Doucet’s career development may infer that Sony is prioritising PSVR into the next generation, which echoes what former SIE Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshdia said last year....

The late Formula 1 legend Ayrton Senna is now a playable character in Angry Birds Go!, Rovio and the Ayrton Senna Institute have announced. Senna becomes the fastest bird in the game, taking the place of Chuck. DICE and Electronic Arts have polished off a new Battlefield V trailer for you to gawk at, this time shining the spot on the World War II shooter’s single-player campaign. Focusing on the ‘untold stories’ of the conflict, War Stories sees players hopping into various roles across Europe, including fending off the Nazi occupation of Norway in ‘Nordlys’ and going behind enemy lines as an English soldier on a sabotage mission in ‘Under No Flag....

Bethesda’s VP of PR and marketing has said that he was “surprised” by how much people took to DOOM’s single-player campaign, revealing that he was concerned the game could attract some middling review scores for its more traditional, old-school approach. Today’s announcement details its price, what it includes, and how the free and premium versions will work. Bloodhunt, the free-to-play battle royale set in the world of Vampire: The Masquerade, has just received its first major update with the release of Act 2.
