Assassin’s Creed Victory will be officially revealed next Tuesday, May 12 at 5pm BST, Ubisoft has announced. The game, which has yet to be formally titled, will be revealed during a livestream event hosted on assassinscreed.com. Details on Victory first leaked last year, with the game expected to be set in Victorian London. The game is also believed to be the first core Assassin’s Creed title led by Ubisoft Quebec rather than series creators Ubisoft Montreal....

Ready for another Attack on Titan 2 related news piece? Koei Tecmo published a brand new TV commercial for its upcoming game Attack on Titan 2. The commercial continues the classic semi-brief thirty-second format and it also adds some wonderful and epic music to the whole concept. The scenes are pretty cool, even for a short a video like this and it will definitely hype-up fans of the series and the game in general....

Platinum Games has announced that it’s once more working with Nintendo and that a Bayonetta 3 is in development exclusively for the Switch. The announcement came at last night’s Game Awards and was also accompanied by the news that the first two Bayonetta games will also be coming to the console early next year. There’s not much detail on the third game outside of the trailer, which we’ve embedded below but needless to say it’s fairly early in development and just as Bayonetta 2 was exclusive to the Wii U, it’ll be a Nintendo-published joint and as such exclusive to the Switch....

There has been a lot of backlash responding to the recently announced cuts made to the national dex in Pokémon Sword and Shield– and rightly so. It is famously “Gotta catch ’em all’ not ‘Gotta catch some of ’em, and many long-standing favorites didn’t make the cut. But, as with any viewpoint, there is an alternative stance. We’ve finally seen Big the Cat in Sonic Frontiers. The big purple creature first appeared in Sonic Adventure on the Dreamcast and has since become a fan favourite character, appearing in a number of games in the series. This article is why some TV showrunners reject Easter eggs. Thankfully, Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker hasn’t fully learned to guard himself from internet exaggerators and fabulists like myself yet. Brooker created an anthology series in which each episode features different casts, settings, and presumably universes. Then because he’s a creative and thoughtful artist, Brooker also sprinkled in some Easter Eggs into early Black Mirror episodes. Nothing major – a reference to Prime Minster David Carrow here, a Waldo bumper sticker there – it was just all in good fun....

There’s been a small drama slowly unfolding around Borderlands 3 in recent times, centered on the fact that voice actor Troy Baker was not brought back to voice Rhys in Borderlands 3. That drama heated up some this week when Baker opened up on why it happened, which has led to Gearbox Software to offer its own thoughts on the matter. Borderlands, at its heart, has always thrived as a co-op experience. Sure, the shooting is great, and the looting is grand. In Boy Erased, director and screenwriter Joel Edgerton tackles one of the most horrific outlets for the homophobia and bigotry against LGBTQ people that has gripped certain sectors of our society for years: the conversion therapy program in which men and women who are LGBTQ are subjected to extensive “retraining,” through techniques ranging from religious instruction to outright physical brutality in order to allegedly restore them to heterosexuality. Of course, this kind of “treatment” is not only nonsense but has been shown to be incredibly harmful to its victims: one’s sexual orientation is not a “choice” or a mental disorder but inherent to one’s very self and identity, and attempts to bury, twist, or distort that can lead to lasting psychological damage and even, in some tragic cases, suicide....

Infinity Ward, the team behind Modern Warfare 2, has given us all a little peek at a new map that is coming to the game. The map, which is called Farm 18, was inspired by Modern Warefare’s Shoothouse map. “We tried to think of hidden training facilities, but it is also in an industrial cement factory,” explained Geoff Smith, the director of multiplayer map design on Modern Warfare 2. “The idea was, what if we put a Shoothouse type situation in the middle....

We’ve come a long way since Murder House, kids. FX has ordered three more seasons of American Horror Story, bringing the show’s future commitments all the way up to season 13. American Horror Story season 10 was previously confirmed by the network but does not yet have a release date. Nor does American Horror Story season 11 or the next two installments. One of the lost gems of video game history has been uncovered, as an early build of StarCraft: Ghost for the original Xbox has seemingly leaked online, with footage of the first part of the game available on YouTube. StarCraft: Ghost was an action/stealth game being developed for Nintendo GameCube, PlayStation 2, and Xbox back in the early ’00s. The game starred Nova, a Terran secret agent with psychic powers. Little is known about the story of the game outside of the existing footage and spin-off media (such as comics and novels), as it was canceled without a solid explanation as to why Blizzard shut down production....

Respawn Entertainment is planning on rolling out two additional characters for Apex Legends, according to findings unearthed by dataminers (via Game Informer). It’s likely the newcomers will arrive as part of Apex Legend’s Battle Pass, which Respawn will launch next month as part of its plans to keep things ticking over in the coming months. The new characters are named as Octane and Wattson. According to the leak, the former possesses a stimpack ability, while the latter wields a Tesla Trap, which makes sense with a name like Wattson, right?...

It looks like Apex Legends players are going to be getting a new playable character sooner rather than later, and it looks like that character will be the frequently-leaked Apex Legends hacker Crypto. This week, the strongest evidence of his imminent arrival to date has been discovered, because it was found inside the game itself. Respawn Entertainment has been subtly teasing Crypto’s inclusion for the last few months, ever since the start of Apex Legends Season 2 where the opening trailer suggested he’s to blame for the destruction of Kings Canyon’s Repulsor tower and the influx of monsters on the game’s map that followed....
