Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition is officially in the works for current-gen platforms– and it’ll be available to play later this year, no less. It’ll feature updated visuals and greater customization in the game’s settings, according to developer Nightdive Studios, which has just announced the new edition of Blade Runner. The original Blade Runner game most definitely qualifies as “vintage,” having released in 1997. The point-and-click adventure game was first developed by Westwood Studios and launched to critical acclaim, selling over a million copies and winning multiple Game of the Year awards....

When Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 64 launched in 1999, no one could have predicted how influential the game would become. The main reason for this is the fighter selection. Getting to see Mario pummel Link was a Nintendo fan’s dream come true. After the game released, series creator Masahiro Sakurai held a poll for Japanese readers to see which characters fans would want in a hypothetical Smash 2. Source Gaming translated the answers, giving a comprehensive view of who players wanted to see in a Smash Bros....

Borderlands 3 developer Gearbox Software announced that a planned event for the Takedown of the Maliwan Blacksite activity is being put on hold. The studio discovered a bug with the modified version of the DLC mode that was causing problems and made the correct decision to delay the release and fix the bugs. Originally, the Maliwan Blacksite event was supposed to feature a variant that would scale difficulty based on the number of players in the activity....

A lucky Destiny 2 PvP player - well, more good than lucky - has landed himself a consulting job with Bungie as the studio looks to improve its Crucible mode. Destiny 2 has admittedly come a long way following a release that was extremely underwhelming, to say the least. The improvement comes off the back of the introduction of the Forsaken expansion; but a multitude of bug fixes, updates and the integration of fresh content has earned the title’s second installment most of the respect garnered by the first....

Bungie president Harold Ryan is to step down after 16 years in charge. A blog post from the developer also announced that the studio’s Board of Directors has appointed Pete Parsons to the role of chief executive officer. Parsons will be “tasked with leading the talented Bungie team as they continue to develop great Destiny experiences”. “I want to personally thank Harold for his friendship, passion, hard work, and dedication in helping make Bungie the great company it is today....

Since launch, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fans have welcomed the addition of new content. Included is the return of the Raid map, the addition of Rebirth Island into Call of Duty: Warzone, and more. However, a mid-season update is due to launch on January 14. Upon launch, you should expect to be able to hop into a new Fireteam: Dirty Bomb map, while the new game mode Drop Kick will make its first appearance....

AMD is in a position where it needs to play catchup. Not on the CPU side of things, obviously, but on the GPU side. While Big Navi, the nickname given to AMD’s RX 6000 Series cards, is impressive, it has its drawbacks. Notably, these cards, even the RX 6900 XT, don’t have fantastic performance with ray tracing or as an alternative to Nvidia’s DLSS. However, one of those might be changing very soon....

Frictional Games, famous for the horror franchises SOMA and Amnesia, has published a teaser trailer for its upcoming untitled game. The game so far has only been teased by the developer through an ARG and strange clips. In classic psychological horror style, the teaser trailer titled “I am Tasi” is both cryptic and unsettling. It features a first-person perspective of Tasi as she mutters fearfully a few words while trying to open her eyes completely....

Animal Crossing: New Horizons lets players create their dream island with huge customisation capabilities (via Nintendo). The Animal Crossing Nintendo Direct was held today, and it broadcasted the “Deep Dive into Deserted Island Life” presentation from Nook, Inc. First of all, players will be able to select their island’s layout and shape, and choose whether it is located in the northern or southern hemisphere. This will sync to real time seasons, so it’ll be the beginning of spring in one half when it’s the beginning of autumn in the other half of the world....

Right now, there are twelve different playable characters in Apex Legends. Bloodhound is a Legend that has been around since launch, and while they’ve always been viable, they’ve recently gotten a small buff that’s definitely increased their viability. They’ve always been very solid at gathering intel in a variety of different scenarios, but while some of their abilities are passive and don’t require any particular skill to use, others can be easily misused and end up not providing you or your team any benefit....
