Arm, one of the biggest chip manufacturers currently operating, has split from its Arm China joint venture. The British chip designer has now transferred its shares in this joint venture to an independent entity. The company got in touch with Nikkei Asia to announce the split between the two companies. Ultimately, this means that Arm China can continue to distribute the company’s IP and collect license fees from Chinese companies. This also means that Arm’s desire to go public could go forward in a much quicker fashion....

Battlefield Hardline’s open beta test will begin next Tuesday, February 3, EA has confirmed. The beta will be open to all players on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC until it ends on Sunday, February 8. Throughout the week, players will be given access to three game modes – Hotwire, Conquest and Heist – across a selection of multiplayer maps, including Downtown, Dust Bowl and Bank Job. The beta will also offer the first look at ‘Hacker’ mode, a new feature that lets one player on each team hack into security cameras to spot enemies and specify areas for their team to attack or defend....

Blind Squirrel Games has worked with 2K to bring the three games to current generation systems. The weapons, plasmids, levels, and character models have been reskinned and retextured to look better than ever, says 2K. The Black Clover anime film has received a teaser trailer unveiling its official title and a firm release date in the earlier half of next year. My favorite part of Inscryption was the beginning of the game, where you end up trapped in Leshy’s Cabin, forced to play a card game where you and your opponents get progressively stronger. The increasing power levels are my favorite part in any roguelite, like all the broken item combinations in The Binding of Isaac, or simply creating a megadeath card in this game. But once you clear that part of the game, Inscryption evolves into something odd and uncontrollable....

Anno 1800 is a beautiful game, albeit with a few flaws as noted in our technical review and official review. Still, if you can look past these shortcomings, you’re bound to enjoy countless hours. Like a handful of strategy and management sim games, Anno 1800 is one of those where you could easily sit down, play, and by the time you’re done, you’ll realize that an entire day has passed. It’s being rumoured battle royale shooter Apex Legends may get its upgrade for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S soon. That’s due to a a listing spotted by Twitter patch tracker PlayStation Game Size. (As spotted by Eurogamer.) It claims a PlayStation 5 version of the game has been added to the PlayStation Network weighing in at 80GB. Respawn has previously confirmed in a Reddit AMA back in August that a next-gen patch for the game is in development....
