Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will be released on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on June 18, 505 Games and ArtPlay have announced. A Nintendo Switch version will follow on June 25. The latest hot fix for Borderlands 3 arrived earlier today, addressing a number of bug and technical problems with the game rather than handing down more balancing updates and nerfs. Bungie would like to become one of the ‘best entertainment companies’ in the world before the year 2025, as stated in an interview with IGN. In January, Bungie split from Activision in advance of their ten-year partnership deal. The publisher confirmed in a statement that Bungie would ‘assume full publishing rights and responsibilities for the Destiny franchise’, and likewise, Activision would be taking care of its own projects. Destiny 2 Shadowkeep releases this week, and it is Bungie’s first large-scale content update without Activision looking over its shoulder....

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 multiplayer, via the PC only Starter Pack, is available free to all Steam users this weekend. The Black Ops 3 ‘Multiplayer Starter Pack’ offers access to the game’s multiplayer mode, including the full collection of maps and public ranked multiplayer matches, but with a handful of restrictions, including the inability to Prestige or play in custom games. You won’t be able to access the Campaign, Zombies or Nightmares modes, either, so if you want to play those you’ll need to upgrade to the full game....

Anthem was out in full force this evening during EA Play, with the upcoming Destiny-esque action-RPG receiving a brand new cinematic trailer for you to gawk at. The Japanese arm of Nintendo has confirmed that a cloud version of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will be coming to the Switch. Much like the cloud version of Resident Evil 7: biohazard, the Switch edition of Ubisoft’s sprawling Greek stabathon will arrive exclusively in Japan. There’s no word on a western version right now, so don’t get your hopes. In terms of pricing, Odyssey will be available for 24 hours priced at 730 yen (five quid) or you can plump for the full game pass for 8400 yen (roughly £57)....

An “interim patch update” for the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight is scheduled for release next month, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment said in a community post on Friday. “As an update, Warner Bros. The matchmaking error affecting the PS4 version of the Battlefield Hardline beta is due to the game’s servers reaching their maximum capacity, EA has said. In an update on EA’s support site, the publisher explained that it had “limited the number of participating players per platform” for the beta, before asking those affected by the error to “try joining a match after some time has passed”. “If you try to join a match in the Battlefield Hardline beta and receive the error, ‘Matchmaking Failed — Could not find a server to join,’ this is likely due to our beta servers reaching their maximum capacity,” EA explained....
