Snorlax is far from the first Pokemon to be added to the Build-A-Bear roster, with popular Pokemon like Pikachu and Squirtle being available for a while now. The Build-A-Bear variety of these plushes offer a bigger and often cuddler version of the pocket monsters over Pokemon Center plushes, and are generally easier to purchase....

Hulu put a stake in Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles series adaptation after almost a year of development, according to Variety. But, like Lestat de Lioncourt himself, the project may not be going to ground for too long. What’s an Anne Rice project without controversy? Fans of the series bared fangs when Tom Cruise was cast as Lestat in the film Interview with the Vampire. Bryan Singer (Hannibal, American Gods) dropped out of the showrunner role on the project in January of 2018....

Much has been made of Anthem’s troubled launch period, but it’s probably worth remembering the game hasn’t done too badly from a commercial perspective. In fact, it’s now been revealed that BioWare’s latest game has pulled in $100 million from digital revenue alone. That’s according to figures released by SuperData Research (via PCGamesN), which revealed that Anthem achieved an ‘above-average’ download rate, and gave BioWare its second best-selling launch behind Mass Effect 3....

EA struck gold with the launch of Apex Legends, a free-to-play battle royale game from Respawn, the developers behind Titanfall. And while the game’s player base has shrunk since its initial launch, there’s been a dedicated community of players pouring hundreds of hours into the game. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Discovery Tour: Ancient Greece, the educational romp around Ubisoft’s beautifully recreated Grecian world, will be available to those who currently own the game next week. Discovery Tour is a standalone mode where combat is turned off and the game’s difficultly is done away with so that those interested in exploring and learning about the world can do so unhindered. Starting next Tuesday, Sept. 10, players will have access to the free expansion that adds 30 interactive lessons about ancient life in the Mediterranean....

Atari’s first-person Asteroids reboot ‘Asteroids Outpost’ has launched on Steam Early Access. The game will be available to purchase on Steam for £16.49 until April 2, after which it will return to its usual £24.99 selling price. Asteroids Outpost sees players building and protecting a space base from other players and incoming asteroid showers. The game brings a “completely new premise” to the classic arcade shooter, Atari says, “by combining survival and crafting gameplay mechanics in a multiplayer intergalactic setting”....

Hilary Swank is headed to Mars—by way of Netflix in the upcoming television series, Away. The two-time Best Lead Actress Oscar winner—Boys Don’t Cry in 2000 and Million Dollar Baby in 2005—is headlining a space series from the streaming giant that’s more grounded (no pun intended,) than its other such offerings like, for example, Lost in Space or Another Life. Indeed, Swank stars in this 10-episode drama series as an American astronaut who reluctantly leaves her family behind for the perilous task of leading NASA’s first manned mission to Mars....

Battlezone 98 Redux, a remastered version of Activision’s 1998 Battlezone, is to release on PC this spring, Rebellion has announced. The new game promises to keep “the core rush of first-person action and RTS gameplay” of the original 90s version while mixing it with remastered visuals, online multiplayer and support for Steam Workshop mods.
