The upcoming online multiplayer game Bleeding Edge is perhaps flying under the radar. Bleeding Edge is developed by Ninja Theory, the creators of action games like Heavenly Sword, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, and DmC: Devil May Cry. The action-game developer is bringing its action genre experience to the competitive multiplayer scene, but it still needs to persuade fans that Bleeding Edge is worth buying into. It now has another great supporting argument, as it’s confirmed Bleeding Edge won’t have microtransactions....

When it launches, cross-progression will enable Overwatch 2 players to access their progress and cosmetics across any platforms using a single account. Additionally, it’ll enable Overwatch 1 players to carry their existing progress and cosmetics over into the sequel, regardless of the platforms they’re currently playing on. However, to make use of that feature, console players will first need to merge any different system accounts they have into one Battle.net account....

The shooter known as Apex Legends has come a long way since launch. Apple has announced that its new subscription service on the App Store will be available to all publishers of content-based apps, including games. This is the same service that was first launched with News Corp’s The Daily app. While the service itself is new, the billing system used to charge for the subscription is not. The new subscription service uses the same App Store billing system that has been used to buy billions of apps and in app purchases....

Halo’s Arbiter, teased for Killer Instinct Season 3 in the earlier Kim Wu trailer, now has his full reveal trailer. Hardcore racing sim Assetto Corsa will release on PS4 and Xbox One on April 22, 505 Games has announced. Developed by Italian studio Kunos Simulazioni, Assetto Corsa made its debut as an Early Access title PC back in 2013, where it developed a name for itself amongst the racing community for its realistic handling and graphics. The console versions will include over 90 high-performance cars, including the Ferrari LaFerrari, Pagani Zonda R, and Mercedes C9, plus over 20 different track “configurations”, including courses from Silverstone, Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Autodromo Nazionale Monza and Nurburgring-Nordschleife....

Polygon recently chatted to director Takahisa Taura about upcoming Switch exclusive Astral Chain, and learned that the game was heavily influenced by animes Appleseed and Ghost in the Shell. Astral Chain began life as ‘a fantasy game where you would use magic,’ before becoming the cyberpunk game we’ve seen in trailers and the like. ‘While we were making it, actually, I was influenced by a lot of different anime that I liked....

Electronic Arts has rolled out another free batch of DLC for Battlefield 1 and Battlefield 4 on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. The World War One shooter’s Apocalypse expansion is available to snap up for free until August 6, while China Rising and Naval Strike for Battlefield 4 can also be grabbed without coughing up any dough during the same time frame. It’s a pretty sweet deal, as Apocalypse is a pretty meaty expansion, offering a bunch of new multiplayer maps based on real WWI battles, as well as the dogfighting-based London Calling and Razor’s Edge....
