And now Bioware has announced that it has hired several top-notch voice actors for the heavily-anticipated sci-fi sequel, Mass Effect 2. Dr. Ray Muzyka, co-founder of Bioware and Group General Manager of the RPG/MMO Group of EA, reasoned that, “[e]motionally engaging narrative is a key design pillar for Bioware, and the top-notch voice talent in Mass Effect 2 helps drive this goal....

Developer Team Reptile has dropped a new teaser trailer for Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, showcasing the various movestyles you’ll be able to use to leave your mark when the game launches later this year. While the game is quite naked about wanting to be a spiritual successor to Jet Set Radio, it’s not going to restrict itself to just roller skates as that title did. To that end, you’ll be able to switch things up with skateboarding, BMX and of course inline skating, all with their own tricks....

Gearbox’s looter-shooter Borderlands 3 is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon. The FPS-RPG series made its long-awaited return last year and brought players back to Pandora along with a variety of new planets to explore, plenty of loot to collect, and a mix of classic and new characters. The Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot DLC arrived for Borderlands 3 in December and extended the latest generation of Vault Hunters’ adventures, pairing them up with NPCs that hearken back to the series’ rich history of characters....

Developer Supercell is no stranger to making great mobile games that thrive in the esports scene. Now, its smash-hit Brawl Stars will have its own World Championship in South Korea with a $250,000 prize pool. The competition will take place from November 15-17 in Busan, South Korea at the BEXCO Auditorium as part of the gaming festival G-Star. Eight international teams will qualify for the competition online through various competitions. The quarterfinals will take place November 15, and the semifinals and finals will be on November 16....

UPDATE 25/6/22: Many more video game companies - including Xbox, Bethesda, Ubisoft, and Humble Bundle - have spoken out in support of abortion rights following the US supreme court’s decision to overturn Roe v Wade. Following statements from the likes of Insomniac Games and Sucker Punch, Sony developers including Bend Studio and London Studio have posted similar support, saying, “Reproductive freedom and bodily autonomy are human rights”. The Last of Us developer Naughty Dog shared a lengthier message on Twitter, saying it “believes reproductive freedom and bodily autonomy are basic human rights and essential to the health and wellbeing of everyone....

Following recent reports that Sony is refusing to approve any statements from PlayStation studios relating to reproductive rights, Bungie - whose acquisition by Sony was announced in February - has said “there will never be a ‘muzzle’ big enough to stop us from standing up for what’s right”. Bungie was one of the first studios to speak out in support of Roe v Wade, a key judgement which legalised abortion across the US, following recent reports the US Supreme Court was trying to overturn the ruling....

Almost every Telltale game is on sale on Steam right now, but who knows how long they’ll be available. On September 21st, episodic story-focused game maker Telltale abruptly closed their doors. They told all but 25 of their employees that the studio was shutting down and that they had had 30 minutes to empty their desks and exit the building. Ubisoft has announced that The Siege of Paris, the second expansion for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, will launch on August 12. The announcement was tucked away in today’s 1.3.0 patch notes post. We heard over the weekend that it’ll add level scaling and a new Nightmarish difficulty, but today’s notes also reveal a new limited time event. In case you missed it, Ubisoft revealed at E3 that it has been working on an Avatar game based on the James Cameron film that, you know, made billions. Officially titled Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, the reveal trailer shows that it looks strikingly similar to the film in terms of visual fidelity. Well, not quite. But it’s a really impressive effort for something that could potentially represent gameplay. Most of what’s in the trailer is the same footage from the reveal trailer, but there are a few unique bits sprinkled in to show off the tech powering the visual experience....
