BioWare’s Casey Hudson has revealed that the studio is looking to make an announcement soon regarding its plans for the Dragon Age series. Writing on the BioWare Blog, Hudson, who lead development of the Mass Effect franchise, reaffirmed how important the Dragon Age series is to the studio, and made it clear it’ll be talking about its future plans very soon. In the next month, in fact. ‘If you’ve been following these blogs, or myself and Mark Darrah on Twitter, you know we’re also working on some secret Dragon Age stuff,’ said Hudson....

Blizzard has outlined what changes it has planned for Overwatch 2’s third season. In a brief blog post shared on the official website, director Aaron Keller admitted that the new Ranked mode “suffered from poor comprehension”, acknowledging that there was “confusion around players’ real rank and how that translated to skill level, difficulty forming groups with friends, and a negative impression of the matchmaker when players of different ranks were put in the same match”....

After a rather lackluster — and lampooned— BlizzCon 2018, Blizzard hit the ground running this year. It showcased three major announcements from some of its tent pole franchises, including Diablo IV, Overwatch 2, and World of Warcraft. Shortly before the launch of WWE 2K20 videos began to surface suggesting that the latest in the wrestling game series was not up to par. These videos featured glitches and animation bugs that extended beyond simple clipping issues, and highlighted major issues with the game. During its CES 2023 keynote on Wednesday night, AMD CEO Lisa Su announced the company’s new Zen 4 3D V-Cache CPU lineup. The new CPU lineup includes three new processors: Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Ryzen 9 7900X3D, and Ryzen 9 7950X3D. Launching in February, these new CPUs bring improvement to gaming and productivity over the company’s Zen 3 3D V-Cache CPU. Blaze Entertainment, the company behind Evercade, has signed a deal to bring Amiga games to its retro consoles starting next year. Evercade, for those unfamiliar, exists in two versions: a home console known as the Evercade VS and the upcoming handheld Evercade EXP. Both are cartridge-based and support a library of 380 officially licensed classic titles, spanning over four decades. At present, over 30 cartridge collections are available for Evercade, each bundling together a curated selection of retro games usually themed around a single developer - with the likes of Atari, Data East, Intellivision, The Bitmap Brothers, Gremlin, The Oliver Twins, and Interplay all currently represented through various deals....

Developer Innersloth has confirmed that social smash hit Among Us will be heading to Xbox consoles early next year. The announcement was made following the game’s launch on Xbox Game Pass for PC last night, and follows hot on the heels of the game also making it to Nintendo Switch. Though not yet confirmed, that latter version also allows for cross-play between the existing PC and mobile versions, so fingers crossed we can expect the same when it lands there too....

Marvel Studios have released the official trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The trailer comes just minutes after a version of it leaked online. From what we can see, it seems like Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and the Pym family are in for an incredible ride through the Quantum Realm. The third entry of the Ant-Man franchise brings back Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror, who made his presence known in the final episode of the Disney+ series Loki....

Respawn Entertainment stated that console crossplay is “important” for Apex Legends, and added that the feature is “something that is kind of expected in the industry.” (via Eurogamer).

Gibraltar was buffed in the latest Apex Legends patch, but he might also have an ability that players just discovered. Historically, Gibraltar has been the least-picked character in Apex Legends. His enormous hitbox and flimsy shield made him just flat out worse than smaller, more nimble characters with more relevant abilities. Season 4 of Apex Legends is right around the corner and, as with every season, a new Legend is joining the roster. Typically when Respawn announces a new Legend, it is usually with some fanfare, like a trailer or showcase. However, in a recent developer stream, some team members at Respawn very casually announced that the next Legend for Apex Season 4 would be Forge - much to the dismay of many in the community....

Speaking during EA’s first quarter earnings call on Tuesday, CEO Andrew Wilson said he is very pleased with Apex Legends’ performance so far and teased that new content will drop in the next few weeks (via Seeking Alpha). Wilson applauded the game’s ‘massive player base’, and stated that Apex Legends had ‘outperformed our expectations with significant growth in daily and weekly active players.’ Season 3 will launch in the second quarter of this fiscal year, and is ‘shaping up to be even bigger’ than Battle Charge, according to Wilson....
