EA’s regular quarterly earnings call occured last night, and among talk of profits and revenue for the gaming giant’s recent games came some interesting information about its popular battle royale shooter Apex Legends, including the fact that details of the upcoming second season will be coming during the company’s EA Play event during E3 2019. As per the transcript via Seeking Alpha, EA CEO Andrew Wilson said ‘We are still at the very beginning of this exciting journey with Apex Legends, and we look forward to sharing more as we go, including the first details of Season 2 at EA PLAY in June....

Today Wild Bunch Productions released a new trailer of their upcoming JRPG Armed Fantasia. Budding historians can now gain fresh insight into ancient Egypt thanks to the newly-launched Assassin’s Creed Origins: The Discovery Tour, allowing you to freely roam the game’s sumptuous open-world while digesting all sorts of tasty nuggets about this iconic period. The debut trailer for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla revealed quite a bit about the upcoming game but also left us with questions regarding the game’s setting, characters, time period, and mythology. Yet, there is one character in the trailer who seems to have generated more discussion than any other. He’s the King who openly declares war on the Vikings and denounces their efforts to conquer England. Ubisoft has confirmed that he is King Alfred of Wessex, the real-life monarch who is positioned to be the primary antagonist of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla....

Earlier today, Ubisoft announced the latest expansion planned for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, titled Dawn of Ragnarok. This new DLC will see players encounter Norse gods and take on the role of Odin as war rages across Svartalfheim. This is poised to be the most ambitious expansion for the series yet, and will release on March 10, 2022. This kind of expansion shouldn’t be too much of a surprise for fans of the previous Assassin’s Creed installments....

David Polfeldt, the Managing Director of The Division and the recently revealed Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora studio Massive Entertainment has announced he’s stepping down from his position at the Ubisoft studio next month. A post on the Swedish developer’s website announced the news, saying that Polfeldt was “moving on to pursue other challenges at Ubisoft.” According to the post, he’ll take a six-month sabbatical before returning to Ubisoft “in a new strategic role”....

Nintendo UK has confirmed that Rare’s 1998 platformer Banjo-Kazooie will be arriving on Nintendo Switch on January 21. The iconic bear-and-bird duo were confirmed to be on their way last month. They’ll be coming as the latest addition to the N64 games available through the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack. You’ll traverse nine colourful worlds as the pair, on the hunt to rescue your sister Tooty from the evil witch Gruntilda....

The Banner Saga 2 will release on PS4 next Tuesday, July 5, Versus Evil has announced, two weeks earlier than its originally planned release date. It also lands four days after the Xbox One version, which will be available on Games with Gold for free this Friday, July 1. The PS4 version will, however, feature an exclusive ability bonus, a unique level 10+ sword that gives a +3 all talent rank and 20% double strength damage....

Battlefield V developer DICE has revealed that it has ‘dialed back’ the character customisation options for the upcoming World War II shooter. Speaking during a livestream around the time of Battlefield V’s Open Beta, Andrew Gulotta and Dan Mitre, who serve as producer and community manager, respectively, admitted that feedback from the community prompted some concerns regarding the authenticity of customisable gear. ‘We heard the community. We’re still looking at World War II through DICE’s lens, but how forward, how crazy we got with some of that?...
