Ash Ketchum’s twenty-two-year long journey might be ending soon, as he recently became the first Champion of the Alola region in the most recent episode of the Pokémon anime that has aired in Japan. Ash’s victory has been celebrated by Veronica Taylor on Twitter, who provided the voice of the character for many years, and has recorded a new message as Ash to celebrate his victory. The first episode of the Pokémon anime debuted in Japan in 1997, with a character named Satoshi going on a journey to become a Pokémon Master in the Kanto region....
Typically when fans tally up win rates of anime characters, they tend to fail to define which battles they’re counting and how. It’s a problem that arises often with popular anime. One of the greatest and fan-favorite PC RPG franchises, Neverwinter Nights, looks like it might be heading back into production after a four year hiatus. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the series, Neverwinter Nights is a campaign setting in Dungeons & Dragons, specifically within the Forgotten Realms setting. Certainly a happy thought for table-top gamers who want to bring their characters to a more visual setting. Atari has gone ahead and registered numerous domain names associated with the word “neverwinter”, so that might be a strong indication that the series is not dead and Atari is waiting for the right time to unleash upon the public....

The British Film Institute has announced a new 10-year plan designed to “support film and the moving image”, including video games. The new initiative, entitled Screen Culture 2033, will “advocate for the value of the full breadth of screen culture, including video games and interactive work”. Borderlands 3‘s fourth main expansion has been revealed by Gearbox, and it’s a wild one even by the series’ standards. Called Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck, the fourth DLC revisits the crazy Psycho Krieg from Borderlands 2. The madman first appeared as a playable class in Borderlands 2, and will feature as an NPC in this expansion. It’s certainly different to see a series class transform into a fully fleshed out NPC, and it’ll be interesting to see where Gearbox takes the character....
