Anthem will not have any romance options, developer BioWare has told Game Informer. Apparently this is a surprise for some people because Anthem’s a BioWare game, and they’re obviously known for getting pretty heavy on the hanky panky side of things with Dragon Age and Mass Effect. Still, it’s pretty obvious the game is totally different to BioWare’s previous efforts. As such, Anthem’s characters won’t be getting their kit off, though there will be ‘friendship’ elements....
Remember Pong? It’s back – and for some reason, it’s now a role-playing game. Taking a break from the perpetually delayed VCS, Atari has now announced Pong Quest, an RPG spin on the beloved (if dated) arcade classic. Pong Quest will take place in a fantasy land, where instead of your standard turn-based battles, players will face off against opponents by playing Pong. The game will feature a variety of different play modes with fifty special balls, each adding odd gameplay tweaks....
Atari’s first-person Asteroids reboot ‘Asteroids: Outpost’ will not feature a single-player campaign at launch, developer Salty Games has confirmed. Instead, the game will be a multiplayer-only title that tasks players with building and defending a space base against other players and incoming asteroids. “I’ve read a few posts asking about single player and I want to confirm right now that we will NOT have a single player campaign during Early Access and are not planning on having a single player campaign for launch,” Salty Games ‘Salty Bill’ said on Steam....

An official English website was created for the anniversary, as well as a new updated online store for merchandise on the way (with worldwide shipping!) All anime adaptations of Persona will be available for streaming in Japan (no news for other regions yet), and a special orchestra concert will be held on November 21 featuring the Persona 5 vocalist Lyn....
Baldur’s Gate 3 will be showcased for the first time at the PAX East convention, which is less than a week away. The development of the RPG is clearly moving along productively. It’s reached a point where potential Baldur’s Gate 3 players are interested in hearing Larian Studio’s plans to launch the game. It seems Hasbro, the parent company of Wizards of the Coast, agrees. At an investor event at the recent New York Toy Fair, a Hasbro representative confirmed plans to release Baldur’s Gate 3 in Early Access in 2020....
As a franchise, Battlefield feels as though it has lost its identity over the last eight years. The glory days of Battlefield 4 seem so long gone, with newer entries failing to offer the same fun-filled experience. Battlefield 2042 marks the franchise’s first return to the modern era since Battlefield 4. Although, whether it lives up to the standards of the classics is up for debate. Some players are enjoying it while others are frustrated with its issues....
It appears that the first “proper” season of Battlefield 2042‘s post launch content won’t actually kick off until March at the earliest. That’s according to dataminers who’ve been finding information from files in the game’s client. As reported by Eurogamer, user temporyal has found references to 12 weeks of ‘preseason’ challenges. These weekly challenges would therefore take players up to March 2022. Elsewhere, these same dataminers say they’ve also found references to a new map, not currently in the game....

Blizzard Entertainment announced it has removed the icy damage hero Mei from Overwatch 2 today, though the removal will only be temporary and is scheduled to come back in the game’s next major update. Overwatch 2 continues to have a rocky launch since its release earlier this month with account issues, DDoS attacks, and two characters that have been previously disabled by the studio. Damage heroes Bastion and Torbjörn were briefly disabled, though Torbjörn was banned from Competitive mode while Bastion was removed from the game entirely for two weeks....
The newly-released Bloodborne PSX demake has had an unbelievable debut, having been downloaded more than 100, 000 times in less than 24 hours. The recent demake from Unreal Engine 4 tech artist and engineer Lilith Walthe saw Bloodborne going back to Sony’s PlayStation 1 roots. Gone were the more realistic graphics of modern games, and in place fans were treated to a wonderful and pixelated nightmare. GDC 2022 is right around the corner, and while it is largely an event for game developers, there’ll likely be some information for consumers as well. In fact, AMD will present the latest research about its image upscaling tech at the company’s GDC 2022 presentation on March 23. As initially reported by VideoCardz, it’s unlikely that the company will unveil FSR 2.0 (Fidelity FX Super Resolution) or any successive technology. The description for the presentation states that AMD will “present some of the results of their research in the domain of next-generation image upscaling technology,” and its application for gaming....
