The holiday season has arrived and Gearbox Software is certainly in the giving spirit. Not only has the company been putting out free holiday inspired skins and loot for players to unlock in game, the first DLC campaign has also launched. Naturally, the experience has plenty of new gear and weapons to obtain as well, though the highly requested rarity tiers of Pearlescent and Effervescent remain unavailable. Many fans expected to see this tier of rarity return at some point in the lifecycle of Borderlands 3 and now Gearbox Software has provided an update on it....

The fourth DLC coming to Borderlands 3 is Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck, and it will launch players into the psyche of Krieg. Xenoarchaeologist Patricia Tannis believes that she may have the explanation for why the psychos of Borderlands 3 are so equally violent and murderous. In her research, she has discovered a place she calls “Vaulthalla,” and it’s down to you to delve into Krieg’s grey matter and obtain information on this mythical mecca....

Rumors continue to spread that Rockstar may be working on a sequel to its 2006 game Bully, yet despite these rumors, the existence of Bully 2 has remained a complete mystery. Rockstar’s is likely working on the next huge game to follow Red Dead Redemption 2, but whether it’s Bully 2 or Grand Theft Auto 6 or both remains a matter of speculation. In the midst of all the swirling rumors, some interesting details about Bully 2, or what could have been Bully 2, have surfaced....

The debut episode of SmackDown on FOX aired on Friday night, and WWE pulled out all the stops. The Rock returned to SmackDown, Braun Strowman tussled with boxing’s lineal heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, and former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez made his WWE debut, attacking Brock Lesnar after Lesnar beat Kofi Kingston for the WWE Championship in the main event. The Velasquez debut is perhaps the most interesting. Velasquez won the UFC heavyweight championship by beating Brock Lesnar in 2011....

A God of War television series would, of course, further expand Sony’s rapidly lengthening list of PlayStation properties making the jump to small and big screens as it aggressively seeks to bring its iconic characters to other media. An Uncharted movie, starring Tom Holland, just scored a solid opening at cinemas, and Sony also has TV adaptations of The Last of Us and Twisted Metal in the works (the former at HBO and the latter now confirmed to be heading to Peacock in series form)....

Respawn’s new free-to-play battle royale title, Apex Legends, has now officially launched in style, reaching over one million unique players in the first eight hours of its release. The game takes place in the Titanfall universe and was kept secret until it was ready to download and play. Although rumors were flying around at the weekend, after someone broke an embargo, the title wasn’t officially confirmed until Monday. In an interview with Eurogamer, Respawn addressed the radio silence stating that they wanted to ’let the game speak for itself’ and it certainly has....

Apex Legends gets seven modes, comprising of fan favourites and fresh experiences, in the Grand Soirée Arcade Event that kicks off on January 14 (via Push Square). To celebrate the new decade, Respawn Entertainment has been hard at work implementing seven rotating match modes for Apex Legends. The dress code is black tie, and if you’ve nothing to wear for the occasion, never fear. There are Fancy skins for all of the heroes, with a steampunk Octane, star-spangled Wattson, and art deco Mirage....

Nostalgia is a funny thing. I spent a lot of time in arcades, and at the time I think I loved them. Looking back, though, I don’t necessarily miss them - I don’t miss the lines, the noise, the smoke (though maybe that was just my neighborhood arcade, actually). What I do miss, though? The games. Absolutely the games. And while I love my consoles and my gaming PCs, I’d do anything to replicate the experience of playing those games again....

UPDATE 5pm UK: Following this morning’s leak, Ubisoft has now confirmed Assassin’s Creed Mirage as the next title in its historical stabathon series. Official artwork for Mirage shows, as expected, Valhalla character Basim in his younger days. This is the smaller, stealth-focused game which has been widely-reported on over the past few months. Eurogamer reported earlier this year that Mirage would be set in Baghdad. As previously announced by Ubisoft, the future of Assassin’s Creed - presumably including its next big chapter Infinity - will be detailed next weekend during the publisher’s Ubisoft Forward livestream....

Koei Tecmo has announced the specific release date for Titan-tussling sequel A.O.T. 2 (also known as Attack on Titan 2) today, as the game looks set for a release on March 20 2018. To go with the news, the company has put out a new story trailer for the game, based on the popular Japanese anime. As previously reported, this sequel adds a new Buddy System to the game, allowing other members of your team to support you, as well as the ability to use stealth to try and get a drop on the city-levelling behemoths....

Today Yostar hosted one of its traditional livestreams from Japan presenting the next major event coming to Azur Lane. EA has released a new patch for the troubled Battlefield 2042 – just over half way into Season 1. Dubbed 1.2, the fixes bring a host of improvements – with the most notable change coming to the Kaleidoscope map, which has been reworked to improve gameplay. EA has strategically repositioned cover to help ‘ensure that the map evolves throughout the duration of each round’. It’s hoped the changes will provide both Attackers and Defenders with new options when playing in key areas....

Battlefield 2042 developers DICE are set to bring in a new set of patch notes that’ll be adding a number of features and improvements that should help improve the current state of the game. Based on the official blog post, the most significant enhancement being made is the introduction of the Return to the Class System mechanic. DICE have also changed the method in which they reveal updates as they now announce their patch notes a week before it actually drops....

Bloodborne’s PC port is “genuinely happening,” if we take these industry insiders’ word as gospel (via WccfTech). Before we move any further, we should not take their word as gospel, no matter how excited we are about the possibility of a PC port.
