Black Mesa, the independent remake of Half-Life, will be launched on March 5 on PC (via PCGamesN). Once upon a time, Valve founder Gabe Newell said that a fan remake of its classic, critically acclaimed first-person shooter Half-Life was “not only possible… but inevitable.” Black Mesa developer Crowbar Collective seemed to take this as a challenge, and the project began to take shape over ten years ago. The game overhauls the design and graphics, while adding narrative threads that appear in Half-Life 2, but keeping true to the feel of the original shooter....

Super Smash Bros. wannabe Brawlout is coming to brick and mortar retailers on the Switch, Merge Games and Angry Mob Games have announced. The scrapper was originally released as a digital download title for Ninty’s hybrid powerhouse (as well as PC) late last year. Brawlout has already notched up over 80,000 players on Switch, so evidently the developer was keen to extend its appeal by offering a physical version of the game....

Publisher Playism has released a new gameplay trailer for upcoming shooter-slasher Bright Memory: Infinite. If you remember from the game’s reveal last year, Bright Memory: Infinite is all the work of one developer, Xiancheng Zeng. In it, you’ll be extending combos and chaining attacks between both guns and melee weapons. And of course, you’ll have special abilities such as dashing and a pulse ability that apparently alters time and gravity. You’ll need both mastery of bullets and blades to take on the game’s many enemies....

Week 5 of the Forza Motorsport 6 garage reveal is headlined by a pair of 2014 British Touring Car Championship racers, the 2014 Audi #67 Rotek Racing S3 Saloon and the 2014 Toyota #80 Speedworks Motorsport Avensis. Both cars are built to the Next Generation Touring Car specifications. The #67 Audi was driven by driver Robb Holland and the #80 Toyota by Ginetta racer Tom Ingram. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War & Warzone has detailed its Halloween-themed The Haunting update, doubling as its Season Six refresh today. The headline additions include two movie-themed limited time Operator bundles. There’s Ghostface from the Scream series and Frank the Rabbit from 2001’s Donnie Darko. Some of the existing Operators also get appropriately spooky skins, including a Necro Queen one for Portnova, a Disciple of Mayhem skin for Weaver and a Lumens skin for Maxis....

BossLogic has created a stunning image that combines the popular Disney+ Star Wars show The Mandalorian with the recently released Death Stranding. Ubisoft has revealed Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, the next entry to the shadowy and stabby Assassin’s Creed series. Beginning at 1.00pm GMT, the livestream featured artist BossLogic working on official Valhalla artwork, with the character cast in shadow while the frosty environment and rolling grassland became busier and busier with details.
