Around two years ago, design studio The Game Band introduced something entirely unique to the online world. Twitch streamer Boogie2988, aka Steven Williams, explained while live-streaming that he purchased Magic: The Gathering cards as a business expense, but then sold them to a friend without declaring the income on his taxes. OGPlanet has announced that its free to play MMO, Cabal Online, is to close down on 31 March 2010. According to the announcement, OG had hoped to keep the game going but its developers, EST Soft, decided not to extent the contract. With immediate effect players will no longer be able to purchase any Astro items from the game’s online shop, but OG asserts that it will do its best to make up for the loss of the game:...

PT-inspired survival horror Allison Road is back in development, creator Christian Kesler has confirmed. Kesler first announced the news to IGN, where he revealed that he would continue to work on the game under a new label co-founded with his wife – and presumably without the help of former publisher Team17. “Like it says in the article, I took a bit of time off Allison Road, went back to work and had a good look at all the stuff that had been done up to that point,” Kesler said in a follow-up post on Facebook....

Frictional Games has said that a Safe Mode for Amnesia: Rebirth “isn’t out of the question,” but a VR mode would be “very hard to do.” (via PC Gamer). The Holo-Day Bash event returns to Apex Legends this festive season. This year, there will be a collection of brand-new wintery cosmetics, a new rewards track, a full month of sales, and the return of the Winter Express train battle. The Apex Legends Holo-Day Bash kicks off in-game on December 1. Winter Express became a quick fan-favorite last year. It’s no surprise Respawn Entertainment is bringing back the limited-time mode. Apex Legends fans have been eagerly waiting for today’s update. A major criticism of the game has been the lack of progression and content. Today’s update was meant to address that by increasing the level cap to 500 and adding new badges and charms. Xbox has announced which games will be offered up to Xbox Games With Gold subscribers for no extra charge for the month of May. As per Xbox Wire, the first up is fantasy board game come-to-life adventure Armello, which crosses deck building card games with a fantasy RPG and will be available from May 1 to May 31. On May 16 it’ll be joined by RTS Dungeons 3 which will run until June 15 and sees you build an army of evil minions ready to take down foolhardy dungeon raiders from the overworld....

A new report has surfaced revealing details about the future of the Assassin’s Creed series. Its next game is apparently titled Assassin’s Creed Rift and will take place in Baghdad. This makes sense, as it is thought that the next Assassin’s Creed began its life as an expansion for Valhalla. Plus Basim, who is one of the most popular characters from Valhalla, is from Baghdad. Given his popularity, Basim could be transitioning into the protagonist role....

The firm added: “When Llamasoft launched TxK in early 2014, Atari was surprised and dismayed by the very close similarities between TxK and the Tempest franchise. “Atari was not alone in noticing the incredible likeness between the titles.
