Respawn Entertainment, the developer behind the upcoming Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, will reportedly reveal its VR first-person shooter officially in September. Respawn first announced this mystery VR title back in 2017, but not much has been revealed about the game since. It will be developed by Respawn, with Oculus Studios as the publisher. Battleborn is being enhanced for PS4 Pro, 2K has announced. The update, which is due to roll out “in the coming weeks”, will let Pro owners choose to run the game at either 1080p/60fps or 4K/30fps, an improvement from the game’s current 1080p/30fps setup. It’ll also introduce a variety of tweaks, content and unlocks to the base game, including all 25 core characters being unlocked from the start, two new training modes, daily challenges, an increased level cap and an overhaul of the in-game economy....

The long-awaited but still nebulous Beyond Good & Evil 2 remains in development at Ubisoft despite last week’s round of game cancellations. Three unannounced Ubisoft games were canned last week, on top of the four ditched last July. These latest cancellations follow a round of poor financial results and concern over the company’s future portfolio - something which has also battered Ubisoft’s stock price. Ubisoft’s statement on the matter admitted it would continue on with “increased cautiousness over the coming years” as the games industry shifts towards “mega-brands and long-lasting titles” - something which raised questions as to where Beyond Good & Evil 2 fitted in....
A recent “Quality of Life” update for Bioshock Infinite on Steam has added a new launcher, which includes a “Store to purchase new content”. This update went live over the weekend, and also added an in-game account linking option. However, despite being labelled as a “quality of life” update, this move by publisher 2K has left some fans unhappy, with several stating the game is now broken. “Valve definitely needs to implement a new policy that prevents publishers from screwing over Steam players by putting it anti-consumer BS years after a game launches or releasing ‘updates’ that fundamentally break the game (on linux in this case) and add features that have zero benefit to the player and are solely intended for data mining and advertising,” wrote one user....
Season Five for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone is underway. During the season so far we’ve seen plenty of small patches, with a Black Ops Cold War patch now arriving that makes changes to the Double Agent mode.
