Ubisoft announced that the final content update for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be coming next month and mark the end of post-launch support for the two-year-old title. Bandai Namco will reveal a new IP at next month’s Gamescom, the publisher has announced. The new game will be joined at the show by Tekken 7 and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, although Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom, which was announced by Namco in December, does not appear be in attendance. The new IP will be “published by BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Europe for a western audience,” Namco says, although further details have yet to be revealed....

Batman Forever has surprisingly entered the extended cut conversation recently fueled by HBO Max’s upcoming release of director Zack Snyder’s originally-envisioned version of 2017’s Justice League, a.k.a. The Snyder Cut. Yet, while the theatrical version of the 1995 third film in the Batman franchise—unlike Justice League—did reflect the vision of its director, the recently-departed Joel Schumacher, it seems that a darker and much (much) longer version exists. Citing a source close to the movie, Variety has confirmed the existence of a mega-sized 170-minute cut of Schumacher’s Batman Forever, which starkly contrasts with the standard theatrical version we all know, which runs at 121 minutes....

The amount of money it must take to create a large, beautiful world with high-quality assets is nothing to sneeze at. Not just the investment, but the required amount of work is simply enormous. The lush, vibrant foliage, the sweeping plains, the streams and hills, they’re all lovely....
BIOTA is an indie metroidvania, and for some reason it’s really gotten to me. I really love it. I love the range of colour palettes you can select, at least one of which gives the game’s sci-fi horrors a sort of holiday ice cream chic. I love the chunkiness of the art. I love the chugging chiptune soundtrack. I love the fact that the whole thing is set on an asteroid....
Black Myth: Wukong looks better each time we see it. It truly caught our attention last summer when it came out of nowhere and presented such a high level of fidelity from a previously unknown Chinese studio. It’s certainly fun to ogle at the vibrant characters, smooth animations, and next gen graphics. The game isn’t due until 2023, but the developers are happy to offer up another glimpse of what’s to come....
There’s an Easter egg in Black Ops 3’s Nuketown 2065 map which could well keep you awake at night, as YouTuber chaosxsilencer reveals in the video below. Nothing is more scary than a mannequin come to life, and that’s just what happens in Nuketown. To activate the Easter egg find all the mannequins in the map and shoot off their arms. Once all have been dismembered they’ll come to life, but only when you’re not looking....

World of Warcraft maker Blizzard is polling fans of the franchise on what they’d like to see offered in the somewhat-inevitable Wrath of the Lich King Classic. Options in the marketing survey obtained by Wowhead include digital toys, pets and mounts, as well as character transfers, level boosts and game time. Several price points are mentioned, including $50 (£38) and $30 (£23) options. Wrath of the Lich King is the next World of Warcraft expansion due a Classic version, following the launch of Burning Crusade Classic in 2021....
