Bethesda has confirmed details on the final round of beta sessions for Fallout 76, confirming the teaser will come to an end this Thursday. Gearbox has released a new patch for Borderlands 3 that sorts out the KillaVolt boss battle by scaling back the difficulty, as well as including overall fixes and improvements (via Xbox Achievements). KillaVolt’s Shield Storm attack used to electrify the entire floor of the level, so players could not avoid taking damage from the attack. That wasn’t intentional, and now the patch will have addressed that error. Also, Gearbox has fixed the Porcelain Pipe Bomb grenade because it was not meant to trigger multiple explosions upon collisions....

Valve has announced the surprise release of Aperture Desk Job tomorrow to mark the launch of the Steam Deck. As per the description, the game is is described as a “free playable short”. In a move that has surprised some players, but not many, Respawn Entertainment launched a large update recently in Apex Legends that is one of the priciest and least accessible when it comes to acquiring cosmetics. The Iron Crown event is only available for a limited time and introduces new, exclusive cosmetic items. The most prominent issue appears to be the pricing and availability of the Iron Crown event packs. For the unfamiliar, players require a total of 700 Apex Coins in order to open a single Iron Crown pack, which costs roughly $7 in real-world money....

Respawn Entertainment has partnered with Oculus Studios to develop a new VR combat game, the title of which will be revealed at the Oculus Connect event, which is taking place on September 25 and September 26 in San Jose, California (via Eurogamer). Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment has lifted the veil on its latest project, a free-to-play battle royale game called Apex Legends. Chances are you won’t be too surprised, as the game leaked more than a busted water main prior to its reveal. Apex Legends puts an emphasis on tactical squad play, with players customising their own ‘Legend,’ which house a range of unique abilities and strengths to master in battle. ‘Bold new innovations’ are also touted, so hopefully it’ll put a nice spin on the somewhat predictable battle royale genre....

The second part of survival game ARK: Survival Evolved’s ARK: Genesis expansion got a teaser trailer this weekend, and revealed that former Doctor Who star David Tennant will be voicing the role of main baddie, Sir Edmund Rockwell. The second half of the expansion will take place on a giant colony ship travelling through deep space, where players will have to use all the survival skills they’ve picked up so far including possessing creatures via Noglins, using the hoverboard-like Hoversail or viewing bases remotely with security cameras along with a host of additional features....

Ahead of this weekend’s Ubisoft Forward digital showcase, a new report has claimed the event will offer a look at three previously unannounced Assassin’s Creed titles - one set in Japan, another in 16th century Europe, and a third in China. Earlier this week, Ubisoft confirmed it would be ‘unveiling the future’ of the Assassin’s Creed franchise during this Saturday’s digital showcase, but stopped short of providing specifics. Ubisoft has revealed the live action trailer, I Am, for Assassin’s Creed Origins. The trailer was directed by Daniel Wolfe, who’s previously directed Paulo Nutini’s Iron Sky, that one popular Duffy song, and the well-received film Catch Me Daddy. The Atelier games have had a rough go when it comes to PC ports. Atelier Ryza 2, while not as iffy as its predecessor, still had some issues to deal with. I was hopeful that the new DX versions of the Atelier Mysterious Trilogy would be a bit better in that regard, or at least on par with Ryza 2. Unfortunately, they’re not. Ryza 2 at least appeared to have settings you could use from the menu....
