Sega has a countdown timer on their site that looks set to unveil something special in just over a week and Polygon is reporting that it may be Bayonetta-related. At the weekend Sega’s April Fool’s Day joke involved an 8-bit version of Bayonetta on Steam that contained a link to the aforementioned countdown timer which has the potential to be something much more newsworthy than an old-school 2D brawler. Over on Reddit, fans have spotted that the image on Sega’s page is from the collector’s edition, as well as a trailer for the original PS3, 360, and Wii U game....

Behaviour is launching its first Dead by Daylight comic book. The first issue, set for release in March 2023, will focus on the Killers The Legion who comprise “a close-knit group of four troubled teenagers” and explores “The Legion’s relationship as they navigate the darkness within themselves and the world around them”. The comic has been written by Harvey Award winner Nadia Shammas (Squire, Where Black Stars Rise), with art by Dillon Snook (Bluefall)....

The struggling third-person shooter Anthem received a much needed shot in the arm last month when the oft delayed Cataclysm event finally arrived. The free event added a ton of new content into the game from various arenas and enemies to fight, new loot to find, as well as new story elements to take in. Bloodborne has finally made its way over to PC, but not in the way that you might’ve expected. A ‘demake’ of FromSoftware’s gothic horror title released at the start of the week. It’s available for free now at the game’s itch.io page, after taking around 13 months of hard work from its developer Lilith Walther (@b0tster on Twitter). The demake is an impressive feat in itself, and is a testament to the dedication of FromSoftware’s fan base....

The fourth faction haunting the streets of Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2 has been unveiled. The Newcomers faction joins the likes of the Baron and the Pioneers. However, the Newcomers’ is more enigmatic that their compatriots. While the Baron offers work and the Pioneers seek to regain their glory, the Newcomers’ goals are unknown. What is known, however, is that the faction was founded by blood mages, which, frankly, is badass....

Spin off movies are all the rage. Even Star Wars is doing it with Rogue One this holiday season. Spinning off the main Transformers line of movies into more focussed efforts makes sense, so it’s no great surprise to hear that the sixth movie will be a lower budget affair honing in on one of the franchise’s robots. Before we get to the long-awaited announcement of the next Call of Duty game, Activision is ensuring that they get the most out of Call of Duty: Black Ops before E3 and before the onslaught of this year’s fall video game release schedule. The next set of Black Ops DLC releases May 3rd on the Xbox 360 and while we’ve already seen the Escalation multiplayer preview trailer, we now have a full-on trailer for the DLC which runs through the new maps and sees the return of a familiar face....

Infinity Ward is not working on a sequel to Call of Duty: Ghosts, according to Kotaku’s Jason Schreier. The news comes following a Tweet posted by the developer’s comms manager that seems to indicate a Ghosts follow-up is on the cards. The image itself is of a skull, but it seems more likely that Infinity Ward is actually teasing something related to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. For starters, we’ve already heard that the studio is reportedly developing Modern Warfare 4, which will be this year’s Call of Duty game....

Activision has revealed what’s coming up in Call of Duty: Mobile’s newest season, Wild Dogs, which includes a “brand-new way to play battle royale” via its new mode, Sandstorm. “There are no good guys, no bad guys, with only nature as the adversary,” a press statement teases. “A sandstorm will appear randomly in wild areas of battle royale. Players entering the sandstorm will be challenged to avoid hurricanes and tornadoes to reach the high-tier loot and special items contained within the weather event....

Call of Duty: Mobile has revealed the details of its next big update: Season 8 Train to Nowhere. The season’s big new addition is the mobile debut of a fan-favourite Black Ops II map, a new Battle Royale class, a new perk and an Operation: Spy Hunt themed event. Anthem’s Closed Alpha period will kick off on December 8 for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One, publishing powerhouse Electronic Arts has announced. The Closed Alpha will run until December 9, and will only be available to a small number of players. To be in for a shot, you’ll need to sign up for the Alpha test on EA’s community website; there’s no pre-order guaranteed access here, folks. Developer BioWare also warned that the Closed Alpha may not be the most stable experience, as the studio will be fiddling with various settings including matchmaking during the test....

Patrice Désilets, the creator of the Assassin’s Creed series, has said that he’s sorry about introducing the ‘Ubisoft tower’ mechanic that has infiltrated open world game development (via Destructoid). The ‘Ubisoft tower’ requires the player to climb various points of interest to clear the game’s map. It seems ubiquitous now, but its first iteration was in Assassin’s Creed in which Altaïr would scale buildings and monuments to reveal missions in the city streets below....

First launching on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection finally arrives on Nintendo Switch. PC component manufacturers are constantly submitting new filings for their products, but today’s listings hint at a particularly interesting collaboration between two industry giants. According to a recent filing to the Eurasian Economic Commission, an ASUS graphics card featuring a Noctua cooling solution may be under development. This filing was first spotted by hardware leaker Komachi on Twitter, and indicates that the graphics card will indeed be a GeForce RTX 3070....
