The rumoured Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered is definitely happening, Eurogamer reports. However, in a controversial move, it has been stated that the remaster will eschew the original game’s multiplayer component entirely.

Furthermore, according to CharlieIntel, Raven Software is not involved in the project at all and the game will be sold at a reduced price tag of around $24.99.

The omission is pretty shocking, considering that Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered included multiplayer, not to mention the fact that Call of Duty’s online exploits in general are by far and away the most enduring part of the multi-million selling franchise.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered is reportedly due out on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One prior to the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 this October.
