Activision has officially unveiled Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 after numerous leaks and rumours, confirming the next chapter in the popular futuristic military franchise will hit PS4, PC, and Xbox One this fall.

Sadly there’s not an awful lot to go on right now, with the publishing powerhouse only revealing that we’ll get our full glimpse at the sequel on May 17 via a special event held by the company. Presumably more info will follow at E3 2018 in June, though we’ll have to wait and see.

Black Ops 4 was pretty much a given after a bunch of merchandise listings from GameStop leaked online, as well as the game’s logo appearing on a baseball cap worn by James ‘The Beard’ Harden. As expected, the game is being developed by Treyarch, who have worked on all previous Black Ops titles.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is due to ship on October 12, and yes, that’s quite a bit earlier than we’re used to getting the games each year (they normally show up in early November).
