Bugsnax as well as The Isle of Bigsnax will be making their way to Steam and Game Pass later this month. Young Horses’ adventure game, and its update, will be available for Steam and Game Pass users to play come April 28. Previously, it was exclusive to the Epic Games Store, having launched on it back in December 2020.

It will be available on Steam for $24.99 USD with a 20% off discount. It isn’t available for pre-purchase, but those interested are free to add it to their Steam wishlist in order to not miss its launch. Having the opportunity to own and play Bugsnax without resorting to the Epic Games Launcher will be a big selling point for some. Despite the platform’s increasing popularity, there are still plenty of PC gamers that are sceptical.

This isn’t just good news for those who are new to Bugsnax. Existing players have plenty to look forward to thanks to its upcoming update. Titled The Isle of Bigsnax, it will add a new campaign that is expected to last between three to four hours. The update is free, so players don’t have to purchase any additional content to access it.

Furthermore, achievement hunters have plenty to look forward to. The new update will bring with it a variety of new achievements to unlock. And of course, this will be the first time that Steam achievements for Bugsnax will be earnable too. So there will be plenty to work towards for all of the completionists out there.

It’s actually really good

Bugsnax has become somewhat of a joke since its release because its premise is so unusual. Even so, you shouldn’t be fooled into thinking that this is some low effort indie game. With its modest price tag and charming aesthetic, Bugsnax is worth giving a try once it lands on Steam and Game Pass. It’s especially worth it if you enjoyed its developer’s previous game, Octodad: Dadliest Catch.
