Bugsnax certainly struck a chord when it was revealed earlier in the summer. The part-bug, part-snax game by the developer of Octodad had a lovely mix of color, charm, and weird. It’s definitely creative, even though it looks akin to Pokémon but with edible monsters. Earlier today, developer Young Horses announced that the game is making its way onto PC soon. Bugsnax is set for a release date of November 12, and will launch on the Epic Games Store.
To celebrate the Bugsnax release date announcement, the developer unloaded a new trailer featuring the voice cast. And what a cast it is. Despite being a cute, little game filled with bugs and adventures, it managed to bring together some impressive talent. Yuri Lowenthal, who voices Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Insomniac’s game series, is on board. And so is Roger Craig Smith, the voice of Sonic the Hedgehog, Batman from Batman: Arkham Origins, and Ezio from the Assassin’s Creed series. Debra Wilson, who voiced Cere Junda in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, is also in the cast.
“It took a lot of restraint not to geek out around so many industry icons gathered into one place,” said Kevin Zuhn, creative director at Young Horses, on a PlayStation Blog post. “And speaking of, we managed to put them all in a room together for some ensemble recordings (pre-pandemic, thankfully). It turns out this is pretty uncommon for games to do, especially with a cast this large. But that’s one way our naivete can be a strength, because seeing them all play off of each other’s energy was wonderful.”

The game will include plenty for the adventurous. There are more than 100 different Bugsnax to discover and hunt across Snaktooth Island, which features various biomes to explore. Bugsnax will be available on the Epic Games Store on November 12. It’ll be listed for $24.99 USD, but has a pre-order discount for 15% off.
