Borderlands 3’s launch on the Epic Games Store in September 2019 went extremely well. Yet despite its success and despite its continued post-launch support, many PC gamers have waited patiently to buy the game. It’s not that these PC gamers didn’t want to play Borderlands 3. Rather, it’s where they wanted to play Borderlands 3. Luckily for them, Borderlands 3 is now nearing its launch on Steam.
Launch day information for Borderlands 3 on Steam was also provided. The game will officially unlock for all pre-orderers starting March 13 at 7:00 am PST. March 13 is a Friday, so a lot of players will probably be going to work that day. The game will at least be ready for them when they get home.
Finally, Gearbox has confirmed that Borderlands 3 will feature cross-play between Steam and the Epic Games Store. Players won’t be quarantined on one storefront. Steam users will be prompted to provide a unique name in order to use cross-play, because Steam allows for non-unique usernames. If that isn’t something a player wants to do, they can opt-out of cross-play between the storefronts. This option can be turned on or off from the game’s menus.
Borderlands 3 is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
