Borderlands 3 is absolutely stuffed with easter eggs, and fans keep stumbling on new ones every day. Borderlands 3 makes references to other video games, movies, and TV shows, with several nods to NBC’s The Office found in Gearbox’s hugely successful looter-shooter game.

Borderlands 3 fans have found at least three The Office easter eggs so far, including two weapons that reference different episodes from the show, and a FL4K skill that includes some dialogue from Dwight Schrute. FL4K’s “Go for the Eyes” skill has flavor text that says, “The eyes are the groin of the face,” which is very similar to the Dwight quote “The eyes are the groin of the head,” from the season 4 episode “Branch Wars.”

Additionally, Borderlands 3 players have found two different weapons that reference The Office in the game. One is the legendary pistol called Shocking AAA. Its flavor text says “Hold on! They’re lithium!” which is a Michael Scott quite from the famous “Scott’s Tots” episode of the show.

The other Borderlands 3 gun that serves as a reference to The Office is perhaps the most blatant Office easter egg found in the game so far. The weapon is called Kevin’s Chilly, which is a reference to the cold open where Kevin the accountant brings in his famous chili to work. Unfortunately for Kevin, he trips while carrying his pot of chili, and it ends up spilling all over the Dunder Mifflin Scranton floor.

Besides The Office, Borderlands 3 has a ton of other pop culture references, usually in the form of weapon flavor text. However, some of the easter eggs are a bit more than just flavor text, like the Rick and Morty-themed shotgun for instance, or the One Punch Man boss fight.

Borderlands 3 is a relatively large game, and so it’s likely that there are secrets and easter eggs that fans still have yet to uncover. Moving forward, fans can expect even Borderlands 3 easter eggs to be unearthed, especially when Gearbox adds new content to the game like the Bloody Harvest event and the upcoming first DLC pack.

Borderlands 3 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version also in development.
