Gearbox Software continues to keep Borderlands 3 stuff with content, the latest being the first planned expansion, Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot. While the flow of content has kept players happy, the game itself continues to have some nagging issues. With the holiday season now over, Gearbox has begun the process of updating the game starting with one of the least popular elements to the game: anointed enemies.
The first hotfix of 2020 for Borderlands 3 arrived yesterday and it immediately targeted anointed enemies. According to the notes, Anointed Enforcers were unintentionally more difficult than expected due to an issue with their immunity abilities. While there isn’t a permanent fix yet, these enemies have lower health for the time being.
While only temporary, this adjustment should please fans for now. Anointed enemies have been one of the more controversial aspects of Borderlands 3 as these enemies are intentionally difficult and more challenge, but most of the time, they’re simply not very fun to face off against like the former Badass enemy types. One of the biggest complaints is that many have unfair abilities and all of the effort needed to overcome them typically results in loot that just doesn’t match the challenge.
In addition to Anointed enemies, the hot fix also addresses a number of community reported issues. FL4K’s Furious Attack now applies bonuses to pet damage 100% of the time while Rakkcelerate now always applies the cooldown modifier. Cheap Tip always displays the total weapon shield capacity from the tooltip item card and The Arbalest of Discipline issue where it sometimes spawned with just shields has been addressed.
Gearbox also provided an update on the newly scaled Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite event. The developer thanked fans for their patience after the mode was originally delayed off of its New Year’s Day release date. A bug ultimately delayed the mode, which intended to introduce a scaling difficulty to help players who didn’t want to use the matchmaking but still wanted to try it out. Thankfully, the wait is nearly over as the new mode launches next week on January 16. It’ll be available until January 30, at which point the mode reverts back to its original form without the scaling difficulty.
Borderlands 3 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
