Borderlands 3 just launched its first major DLC story expansion in the form of Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot. So far, reception to the first major Borderlands 3 DLC has been mostly positive, with the DLC generous with its loot drops and serving as a great way for players to get rich fast. It’s also been praised for its sense of humor, which appears to extend to a certain level design choice as well.

There are floor lights in the Borderlands 3 Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot DLC that emit an orange glow. While seemingly innocent at first glance, those that have played Borderlands 3 will realize that the lights look similar to legendary weapon drops. Knowing Gearbox Software’s sense of humor, it’s quite possible that this was done on purpose as a joke, though it’s also possible that this was just an oversight during the development of the DLC.

While some Borderlands 3 fans may be disheartened when they run up to one of these orange lights thinking it’s a legendary loot drop, at least there are plenty of legitimate legendary loot drops in the new DLC to collect. As previously mentioned, Borderlands 3 has been praised for its generous loot drops, which include some especially powerful weapons for players to add to their arsenals. One example is the Ion Cannon legendary rocket launcher, which has quickly earned a reputation as one of the best new weapons in the entire Handsome Jackpot DLC.

Since the Borderlands 3 Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot DLC has only been available for a few days at the time of this writing, it’s possible that there are even better legendary loot drops waiting to be discovered. The DLC itself offers a main story quest of decent length on top of side missions to complete and new challenges to conquer, so it may take fans quite awhile to see everything it has to offer.

Hopefully the next Borderlands 3 DLC is just as well-received as Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot. We know that the Borderlands 3 season pass will include at least three more DLC expansions, so fans of the looter-shooter have a lot of new content to look forward to in 2020.

Borderlands 3 is out now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
